  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Year
2022
Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80
A couple of dealerships in the area are showing 2024 Genesis G80’s in route and look to have them on the lot in September.
The one thing that I am hearing is the infotainment screen is now incorporated into the dash like the G90. The grill and front side vents may also be slightly smaller.

I test drove a 2024 yesterday in Cary North Carolina. In my opinion, the front doesn’t look much different. I don’t recall The infotainment screen is incorporated into the dash like the 90s. I’m hoping this was just an anomaly, but the gaps on how the panels fit widely varying, especially on the hood. This was disconcerting.

I went over to their website and if those pictures are actually of the 2024 Genesis G80 it appears that the infotainment screen remains as it is and was not incorporated into the dash like the G90.
I have the gap where the hood meets the fender as well as most other G80’s I have seen on the lot. It is really not all that bad and I am certain that Genesis will say that it is within their tolerance range. It would be nice if Genesis could clean it up as it sort of looks as if the hood has somehow buckled.
I just zoomed the picture and that gap is much larger then what I have seen. I doubt if I would have purchased a car with a gap showing like that. Disconcerting is putting very nicely 😱

What you're referring to is the refresh. It hasn't even come out in Korea yet. Best guess is probably model year 2025 we will see that.

There were some leaked pictures of it, the headlights are going to be different too. They will resemble the new G90.

Junooni176, thanks for this. The link you provided is interesting as it is almost like Genesis is trying to hide 2024 information. Compare that to this link which has no G80 2024 info. Luxury Cars, Sedans, SUVs & Electric Vehicles || Genesis USA

Does anyone have a guess as to why Genesis is doing this? It's not because you can't buy a 2024 G80 as I test drove one this week and the dealer would have sold it then.

It's also interesting that when I called Genesis customer care as well as the Genesis Concierge phone lines, they said they have no information on G80s 2024s! How is that possible when I could have bought one this week?

From my past experience working with website development, theyre probably just behind on updating the website for whatever reason. Once they have all the 2024 information and they have tested the 2024 webpage, it will start appearing on the main page.

I was looking for information on the 2024 g70 but that page is identical to the 2023 g70.

I am hearing that the 2024 Genesis G80 is equipped with Wi-Fi Hotspot. I am also hearing that owners of the 2023 Genesis will be able to get Wi-Fi Hotspot in their cars. This will either be done through a software update or some other means by the service department. Those of us with the 2022 and under will luck out😱

WiFi hotspot, or is this something new?
Is there an additional recurring charge for this, as with the bluelink?
Sorry about that, I meant Wi-Fi Hot Spot. I went back and made the correction to my post and no it is not anything new and yes there will probably be charges much like blue link. I had Wi-Fi Hotspot in my Cadillac that I traded for my G80. I did not use WI-Fi a lot and only paid when I needed to use it.

Am I right that there is No RWD G80 for 2024 ???

Wow!

I am only seeing AWD in transit to the dealership here. We may not know for certain until the build G80 shows up on the Genesis Website. If this is true could the 2.5T or 3.5T be next in line.

Perhaps the demand for RWD is low and if this is the case I believe the demand for the 2.5 T is greater than that of the 3.5T. Horse power regardless of the demand for it, may carry more weight then demand for AWD over RWD.

Here is the Build for 2024 and I'm not seeing RWD there.

Are the (manual) rear sunshades on the passenger and drivers side door windows gone from the 2024s? Also is the 'soft door close' option removed?

As far as I can tell, by comparing the 2023 and 2024 build pages and also looking at 2023 and 2024 G80s for sale on cars.com, including actual window stickers, the answer is yes. They removed the rear manual side window shades (but kept the power rear window shade) and they removed the power door closure.
