  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Guys,

As the post says my G70 was damage during regular maintenance. The technician lowered the lift with the door open. They offered to send it to the body shop for repair however this incident severely damages the value of my car as well. Looking for what to do in this situation.IMG_2563.webp

Step 1. Define severely. Do a little research and put a number on it. Fact based number, not an opinion. The action will be different for $200 or $5,000.

Someone I know, who's car was in an accident, had this same issue. The insurance company paid to repair the damage and also reimbursed him for the loss of value. I would look into that.
But, how many people really look up to see if the car was damaged and would not buy the car for that reason. I can't really put the damage into perspective from your picture, but having that fixed would not stop me from buying it.

Wow, sorry that happened to you. I would be beyond pissed off.

Let them fix it, make them give you a GV80 or something killer to drive while they have your car.
Mention something about diminished value of the car to your insurance company as they was clearly not your wrong doing.

Good luck!
