  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a 2024 Genesis GV80, 3.5T Prestige.

I activated my Valet mode using the Genesis app. It was being serviced and the Valet mode was on for about 4 hours. I entered my pin to turn off Valet mode on the app and as far as the app is concerned it says Valet mode is "Inactive." However, in the car, Valet mode is on and it says to turn off Valet mode via the app. I have tried performing a hard reset and deleting and downloading the app again multiple times. Genesis connected services is apparently workin on it but it seems like it is going to take more than a week to get a resolution.

Has anyone encountered this issue of being stuck in Valet mode?
How was the issue resolved?

I'm also now stuck in valet mode for doing the same thing. I took it to a body shop to get a protection film wrap and they had it for a week. I activated valet mode when I dropped it off (which was a bit sketchy but it eventually worked) and when I picked it up they ran the 12 volt flat and had to replace the 12 volt battery. Not sure if thats relevant but valet mode won't deactivate now. It keeps saying "battery level is low in the vehicle" but I charged it to 80% which should be more than enough.

My problem was fixed after many days of trying to turn off valet mode from the app. Delete the app and download again as many times as it takes. It my case it seems like the app thought valet mode was off but it remained on in the car. One day I opened the app after fiddling for a while and it finally said valet mode was on in the app so it was synced up to the car and I turned it off.

If all else fails they is a new update to the car’s software that was recently installed when I went to get an oil change 2 weeks ago. Perhaps that will prevent the error.
