  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I keep the air conditioner in my 2021 Genesis G70 on Auto, and it has always been on when I have started the car. The car was recently in the dealership for the last free service, and they did a battery test, which I assume means that the battery was disconnected. Now, when I turn the car on, I have to manually turn the AC on, by pushing Auto, which I never had to do before. When I shut the car off, the AC is on Auto, and it should be on Auto when I start the car. Any ideas what I can do to get this fixed? TYIA.

Complain to the dealer?
I've done the same for years with different cars. Never noticed a setting for it to stay.

My two previous cars were a 2013 and then a 2019 Sonata Ltd. Once I put the climate control/AC on "auto," it always turned on when the car started. I thought that was standard in most cars today.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
When you turn it on, does it have the temperature that you last set, or does it go back to some default? Maybe they forgot to put back the fuse for the climate control memory?

Yes, to clarify, I should have said to make it optional. Always stayed on.

When I got the car back from the concierge driver, I had to set it back to 73, which is where I normally keep it (he had put it lower), but when I turn it on, it is at 73. Let me also add that this does not happen all the time, just intermittently, which of course makes it even more aggravating.

do you use the Genesis app to remote start? My guess is that when you go to start it using either the winter or summer preset, you have to select a temperature for the HVAC to put the cabin at. There’s no AUTO option on the app from what I can tell. Just my guess!

Because my car is in a closed garage, I don't remote start the car. I reset all the AC settings, and the problem seems to have gone away. Thanks to all who responded.
