  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Key fob stop working, I put in new battery, and it still doesn't work. My other key fob work just fine. Does any one any idea. Thanks for the help. I have a 2012 Genesis.

If the fob works in the dash slot, 99.9% it's the battery. It's pretty rare that a fob dies on its own even after a trip through the laundry. It's almost always the battery, even when the battery is brand new out of the wrapper still within expiration.

With various vehicles over the years I have had brand new replacement fob batteries be completely dead a few times ... once I had 2 bad replacement batteries in one setting (plus the one that went dead naturally, total of 3).

Also, make sure the replacement is installed correctly. Seen that too.

I went to the Genesis dealer he said the battery was in upside down. I said that the minus sign show how to put it in. But guess what the fob had it back woulds. He reverse it and the new battery got it working. Next time I will look to see how it was installed.
