  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

They really had no choice if they want happy workers. I want happy workers assembling my car.
Should help with stability. I should add. If they want happy NON-Union workers.
Or if they are trying to avoid unionization. It is a direct response to the settlement of the union dispute with Ford, Stellantis and GM in the US.

If the wage increase goes beyond covering increased cost of living, it should make workers happier,
and GV70 owners in the Americas (and possibly also Europe — Not sure whether the Euro-spec GV70 is built in
Montgomery or in Ulsan) more satisfied with their car.

As for unions, I'm not sure what the Korean stance on this is. Business culture varies a lot from country to country,
and that very much includes the attitude towards unions.

In Germany, for example, the attitude is that having a union is a must, and there's a deeply rooted culture for management and unions to work together towards achieving a thriving workplace for everyone. Much so that the lack of one is problematic if the business either has more than a certain amount of employees or higher than a certain amount of turnover.

When Volkswagen management went from Wolfsburg HQ to visit the factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee,
they wanted to meet with the union representatives. "What union?" said some employee from the factory floor.
"We don't have a union? And honestly, I don't think many of us believe we need one."
Management kinda panicked, and urged the workers to either find and join an existing union, or form one of their own.
I didn't follow too closely, so not sure what the outcome was.

But hey, this is why strikes are much rarer in Germany than in, say, UK or France.
