  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My elapsed time counter in the dash display resets itself automatically every time the car is shut off. Isn't it supposed to keep a cumulative time until it is reset manually? Does anyone else have this problem?

Mine does this, but I don't think it is a problem. I suspect that the elapsed time is designed to reset after some set time with the car not running.

I've aways been puzzled by this. It seems to have a mind of its own. Because of this, I never use (or look at) it.

It resets itself after a certain amount of time. I typically don't like this. I like to know how many hrs I drive on a full tank of gas.... not necessarily how long for each trip.

Ash is correct. If you are on a trip, make a stop for lunch/gas- its still clicks away once you start again. But if you stop the car for couple hours- back at 0:00.

The Mercedes E class gives you 4.5 hrs before resetting. Thought you would want to know that.
