  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80
My wife wants a 1-2 year old 2.5 T GV70 with less that 10,000 miles

She wants to have a CPO but neither of are experts in this .
With such a low mileage and I asume we get the 100K coveage- Whet are we getting for the CPO? Who much can go wrong with a car with such low mileage and it should be covered by the waranty anyway

Notice. ---There is no Genesis dealer for 100 miles from where we live and this car is at a Jaguar dealer so is that a different type of CPO?

Thanks

CPO gives you the 10/100 warranty as second owner. Without it, warranty becomes 5/60

Normally it is done by the Genesis dealer. Check what you are really getting from them

Bear in mind that the CPO 10/100 warranty is only for the powertrain. The CPO bumper-to-bumper warranty that covers additional items like electronics is only 6 years or 75,000 miles, only a year and 15,000 miles more than the factory warranty.

Can a Jag dealer give you Genesis CPO coverage, to include a 10/100,000 powertrain warranty? I doubt it.

Would you really want a Jag dealer servicing your Genesis anyway?

If your nearest Genesis dealer is 100 miles away, I recommend you fuggedaboudit. You would be the one driving it there, or paying for a trailer. Even your local Hyundai dealer won’t service it. Quote me to your wife. That way she won’t blame you.

I wonder if these CPO's are like those warranties they try to sell you on anything electronic. If it was not in their financial interest, why would they do it.
How many times do these cars have a catastrophic breakdown before 120k?
My 2019 G70 is still problem free.
I am more worried of the hassle of taking time off to drive back and forth to this dealership 100 mi away and hopefully given a loaner . Am I entiteled to one if it is used and nothg bought there?

You are paying for the original warranty too. Just that you don't see it as a line item, it is factored into the final cost. Worth it? Depends on your tolerance to exposure to expensive repairs. The head unit is in the thousands, but overall, they are reliable.

Yes, you are entitled to a loaner even if you did not buy from that dealer. Good thing, as I moved 1400 miles from my selling dealer so too long of a trip just for an oil change. My selling dealer, and now service dealer have been good about loaners.

You never filled out the info that goes below your avatar so I don't know where you are located, but Canada has a different warranty period that they have in the US so check it out before you buy.
