Could you tell me where you purchased that tray for the GV80 center Consol storage area I looked on amazon couldHi everyone. Newbie here with a new 2022 GV80, Alta White - Prestige. I'm a big car guy and couldn't wait to get this SUV. Took a while but finally got it the last week of December. Being here in the Motor City, you grow up loving cars and everything about them. I have had everything from BMW, Audi and Cadillacs the last 15 years. Just got out of 2020 CT6 w/ Super Cruise. Very impressed w/ what Caddy has done in the last 6 years. But.....Genesis takes their vehicles to a whole new level. It's pretty darn perfect. Few little quirks to talk about but overall they are on to something big here. Here's my PROs & CONs:
PRO's:
CON's: (again this is just me and I know some of it is just nit-picking)
- Styling is over the top. Hand wash your car and you'll see the attention to detail, the curves and unique lines they have on this vehicle. All the seams line up perfectly. The attention to detail in the lights and their placement are noticeable. The grill and front are going to be Genesis's calling card. You'll be able to spot it a mile away.
- Technology and interface are awesome. There's multiple ways to do the same tasks inside the vehicle. Very easy to learn the interface and access all the rich features they put into this SUV. It's intuitive, easy to customize the interface etc. The fact you that you can customize the dash, colors, themes is another bonus.
- Interior is spacious and comfortable to sit in for long trips. The choice of materials are superior to most luxury cars in this price range. The Nappa leather, soft leather dash, plush top interior and the hand stitching are just great touches that sets this vehicle from others in it's class. Love the fact that it analyzes your body size and it chooses a custom seating configuration for you. It has made a big difference for me while driving.
- Ride is smooth and customizable. Love that you can customize everything and drive in different modes. Haven't really lit it up and put it sports mode to see how the torque and acceleration are. Can't wait to really open it up once I get it settled in. I'm thinking about a thousand miles right now.
- Media interface is fast to connect. It picks up where you left off when streaming. Love the nature sounds when I want to just disconnect. Try the rainfall when it's totally sunny out there! Sounds weird but it's worth trying. Wireless charging works perfectly. Genesis is using a high end fast QI charger and not a cheap 5Watt charger. It's super fast to charge your phone. Speaker system just rocks. I'm a big audiophile and I'm more than impressed how well my music sounds.
- Voice recognition is just as good as Siri and Echo devices. It hasn't failed me once in the last 3 weeks. I'm so impressed how intuitive it is and how it can find just about anything through natural speech. In past vehicles, it's been the achilles heal of luxury cars. My caddy was awful and I barely used it. I use the GV80 speech recognition all the time. I try to trip it up but it's spot on and knows what I'm asking. Way to go Genesis on a real natural speech recognition that actually works!
- The little touches. I'll try to hit on some of the more unique Genesis touches that you won't see on other cars:
- Blind-spot View is a great touch and it shows on the left and right side.
- Customizable buttons. Just brilliant. Makes it unique to the driver
- Passenger talk. Great if you have a 3rd row and little kids but still pretty cool feature
- Surround-view camera. So many to park your car
- Remote self-parking assistant.
- Remote forward and backward feature on the key fob. Another brilliant idea.
- Massaging front seats w/ multiple settings
- Power-adjustable second-row seats.
- Digital NFC Key card
- Adjustable back seats
- Adjustable Heating and Cooling zones for your seats. Love that you can put less in one area and more in another area
- 3D Cluster and customizable
- Self learning cruise control is just brilliant. Learns your style of driving. Doesn't assume every driver uses cruise the same way
- Lane assist is almost like a self driving vehicle
- Navigation system is better than Google maps and Waze now. I don't really bother with Android Auto anymore
- the little triangular window on the driver and passenger side is a nice nostalgic blast from the past
- Dual exhaust and the trim on the back are sexy. Really makes the car pop from the back. Even the exhaust pipes themselves are designed to fit in there. It's not like they just stuck some fancy trim around stock round exhausts
- Soft close doors. Can't live without them now
- Homelink is very advance and has features showing if your garage door is going up for down. Nice touch
- Connected app and digital key are fantastic. Use them all the time now.
- I could go on and on
- Lot of chrome on the outside. Just a personal preference for me
- badging in the back could have been done a little differently. I'm thinking of de-badging or doing some white dipping to give a little extra customization
- Locking system could have been a little less restrictive. The passenger doors should be able to unlock the car
- Center console turn dial is a little finicky. You have to really pay attention to not go up, down, left or right by accident. I think it's gorgeous and fits in the frame of the luxury build but it's trying to do too much. It needs to be raised a but so you can handle it better. I like the fact it's multi-functional but the mechanics of it could be improved. I like the fact you can write on it etc.
- Phone interface. Unless I'm missing something, where's the simple dialpad when you press the phone button. It just shows me my history.
- Gas mileage has not been good. Averaging around 15MPG city. Haven't really gone long distance anywhere yet. I'm filling 93 octane since I got it
- No massaging seats for the passenger. That should be automatic in a vehicle like this.
- The really little announces:
- Outside temp is on the main driver cluster. Should be on main 14" screen as well
- Automatic engine idle stop is on the left side of the driver. Wish it was near the Auto Brake and shifter
- Climate control LED screen should be able to display other items as well
- Center driver cluster should have a little more customization options
- Same with the driver cluster RPM and Speedometer. Those are just fancy LCD screens. Genesis should have different themes and options. Other manufacturers have been doing this for a while now
- With all the features available in setup it would nice if you could do it from the Genesis app. That way you get to see all the options from your phone or tablet
- I know this will change but Genesis really needs to have their own showrooms and service centers. Right now the majority of the dealerships are tied in with Hyundai. The same manager/rep/service person does both.
- My dealership told me they don't have the concierge system working well. No loaner cars and no pickup or drop off. I'm hoping that is temporally but it just cheapens the brand when you're trying to compete w/ the big luxury boys
So there you go folks. There's my detailed analysis after a few weeks of ownership. I can't be more proud to own this car. Been having a lot of fun with it. I want to give a shout out to KDM warehouse. They have some really cool stuff that I ended up buying for my GV80 that made it even more special. The inside door inserts should be a must on all Genesis cars and SUVs. I ended up getting a large center tray from Amazon that fits perfectly inside the console. Just gives you a lot of extra room to access your stuff without having to dig deep into the console. Here's some pics of some of the accessories mentioned. I posted my GV80's full pics in the Picture thread earlier today.
I'll defiantly be posting more as I learn more about the vehicle and helping new owners out as well.
Cheers and be safe out there!
Eric

Definitely worth cheering about but the GV80 wasn't part of it since it's a 2021 model and that's only for 2020. Meaning the old G80, G90, and G70 sedans.Ooohh not bad not bad.
Where does that chart say it is only for model year 2020? In fact, there is no mention of any model year!Definitely worth cheering about but the GV80 wasn't part of it since it's a 2021 model and that's only for 2020. Meaning the old G80, G90, and G70 sedans.
The JD Power dependability study measures vehicles that are 3 model years old. That's how it's always been.Where does that chart say it is only for model year 2020? In fact, there is no mention of any model year!
My GV80 has 60k miles. I have had a problem with warped rotors twice and am on my 3rd set of front brake pads . I thought the problem was because I am a licensed professional motorcycle racer so I am hard on brakes, but after reading your post I realized the GV80 just may have an issue with warping rotors. My GV80 has been good with the exception of the warranty service. The brakes have not been that good do to all 4 rotors warped at the 9,000 mile mark is where I discovered the problem. Genesis dealer charged me $163 dollars to tell me they were warped when I already had told them they were warped when I took it in for service at the 13,000 mile mark. Dealer said Genesis would not cover the brakes after 12,000 miles. I was not too happy and called Genesis direct which they told me they would take care of it. A week or so later I get a call from Genesis that it was my fault and they would not cover the brakes. I have owned about every car make out there and never had any warranty work or warped rotors in my life and at 67 I am not hard on cars or the brakes. Beware of Genesis not honoring their warranties. Last Genesis I will purchase. I had a new Kia Telluride on order and that has been canceled now.
I had a cutlass supreme back in the 70's that was prone to warped rotors. I replaced the pads and the rotors many times, but that was back in the day when you only needed a socket wrench set and the pads and rotors were extremely cheap. I have never had warped rotors since. Lets hope I can say that in the future.Interestingly enough to see someone else with the problem Thanks for sharing. Here in Missouri the warped rotors never would have shown up, but we went on vacation where we had to brake more than flatter land and a shutter showed up when a semitruck unexpectedly changed lanes on me. I don't ride brakes and always get about twice the milage than everyone else I know with brake pads as I plan my stops coasting up to stops.
I do all my own repair work build engines and complete cars for that matter, so I don't abuse vehicles, so this rather shocked me that I was told all my rotors were warped?? My brakes have never been or smelled hot since I bought the car new. I just left Pikes Peak driving my older Lexus GX470 and the Ranger checking my rotor temperatures had to do a double take when he saw 82 degrees on the front rotors. He came over to me and gave me a fist bump saying what every you are doing keep it up because I haven't seen this much. I told him I have low range in my Lexus GX470 and managed not to use the brakes hardly at all.
This is why I believe these rotors on some of the GV80s may have a defect in their rotors as they cooled incorrectly in the metal structure from their forgings or the metal structure is just poor? I can't be the only one. You will only find this flaw by testing where you get the brakes warm and go to highway speeds and hit the brakes hard to see if you get shutter to show up. Under normal conditions on flatter land, I never would have caught this.
Genesis home office finally gave in and said that I could take the GV80 back to the Tulsa dealership but I would have to pay for the repair myself then apply to be refunded by Genesis but I would not get my $163 back for the Tulsa dealership to tell me what was wrong when I told them what it was from the beginning. Frankly I don't trust Genesis the way I was treated as they changed their tune telling me it was my fault. I guess the Hyundia group lost so much money with all their engine fires and law suits they are pretty sensitive about blaming their customers for their flaws.
At this point I rather find better forgings in the aftermarket and repair this flaw myself.
Unfortunately it does not. I purchased the 24 without considering the possibility of it having WIRED CarPlay in a vehicle equipped with such advanced technology.Do we know if won't need USB cable for Apple Play and or Android this new baby?
I'm relatively new to this forum having just purchased a CPO '23 2.5L with the Advance and Prestige package. The vehicle had only about 5,500 miles on it; so it seemed like a no-brainer versus a '24 model, particularly when the stickers did not show, and the salesman could not cite, any differences between the model years. However, from reviewing this forum it seems there may be a difference, with the '24 models having a more robust Highway Driving Assist (HDA). I wish I'd have known that before purchasing, but doubt it would have changed my mind.
I'm coming from an older vehicle so I'm still learning all this new vehicle tech and how to use it seamlessly without fumbling to find the right button or understand its purpose. I wouldn't recommend trying to figure it all out while driving down the road. I already had my first encounter with the collision avoidance assistance. I'm driving down a city road. A car in front of me turns right into a shopping center. I see it turning, but it's moving somewhat slowly and I'm gauging whether the rear bumper is going to clear the lane before I need to move from the center to the left side of the lane to clear it. Suddenly, the dash lights up with some red caution message, the seat belt tightens, and the car is braking on its own. I think I blurt out "what the H_ll!," but quickly figured out that the GV80 thought I might hit the rear of the turning car. I wasn't sure whether to be impressed or annoyed, so I opted for impressed.
I've never had low profile tires before, but having heard friends and colleagues describe their pothole blow outs, I signed up for the optional wheel and tire coverage. I've also ordered a EZ Spare Wheel and found an OEM GV80 jack on Ebay. The tire repair kit provided by Genesis seems okay for a nail leak, but it's not going to do anything for a pothole blow out. Having kept my prior vehicle for 200k miles I also went ahead and purchased the extended warranty, but I'm still having second thoughts about the wisdom of that decision and the 30 day revocation period is running. Although sold by the dealership, neither the wheel and tire nor the extended warranty is underwritten by Genesis (although its logo is on the paperwork). I'm not sure if that's typical.
The only thing particularly unique about my GV80 is it came with a tow hitch, the rear bumper applique', and a first aid kit. Also, the prior owner (or dealer?) had the windows tinted. I doubt I'll need the tow kit, but it's nice to have if I decide I want a bike rack or some small rear carrier or there is some small in-town trailer I need to tow to and from The Home Depot.
Thus far, I'm enjoying the vehicle.
Thank you for the heads up. I did download the sticker from the Genesis Connection website. It shows what I assume to be the factory tow hitch (for $500), but I'm not sure what it is rated. It has nothing that reflects any modification to the sticker. Also, when I download, off my dealer's website, a sticker from a '24 GV80 it simply lists "Highway Driving Assist." It has nothing to indicate it is version II.During the chip shortage, they could not get the chips to install the HDA II and a few other things, so some cars did not get them. I think it was mostly the 2023 models, but I may be wrong. Also, make sure you have a real trailer hitch if you want to pull a trailer. Mine came with one that looks like the real deal, but it is only for bike racks and the such. Load limit of about 500 LBS.
If you did not get the factory sticker with your car, when you sign up online and register your car, there is a spot to download the original sticker so you can see what you had. But.... some cars came through with everything on the sticker but, there was a option delete attached and a $$ credit. I don't know if that was on the factory sticker or a different sticker that was not part of the original sticker.

My sticker simply refers to it as a tow hitch. I'm not sure my wife would approve of my having a lifestyle hitch. Is it called a "Lifestyle Hitch", thats what they called mine on the sticker, and it in not for pulling stuff. Mine was $400.00 but I have a 21
But, it looks like a hitch that could pull stuffl. They even gave me a hitch mount and ball with it. So be careful.
Did you get a wiring harness with yours and was it listed separately on the sticker? Mine did not come with wires.
