  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I find it unacceptable that Genesis does not have an adequate supply of parts for my vehicle. I had an accident and have been waiting for over 2 months for a rear bumper. No eta. I escalated to Genesis with no luck. Did I make a mistake not buying an American car?

That seems to be an industry wide issue. I went to a body shop about a year ago to ask about some cosmetic repair. He told me he could do it right a way. I aske him why so soon, and he told me because my repair did not need parts. He then started pointing to all the cars on his lot waiting for parts. One was really a sore spot as it was a $20,000 repair and he was waiting for a $15.00 Part for three months.
Now granted, that was a year ago, and I don't know if things have changed.

Some is probably pandemic recovery and a new model does not help.
As for American cars. much is done in Canada, Mexico, China. A friend had a long wait for a Lincoln parts.

When my 2021 Sonata was hit in the rear, waited about month and a half for parts! That was around 8 months ago.

I understand the complaints but I also understand the parts shortage and problems. So long as I get a comparable loaner, I am okay with the delay. So far my dealer, Genesis of Scottsdale, has provided me with an electrified G80 and an ICE GV80 as loaners, each for an extended time without complaint.
