  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I shift from reverse to drive the back up camera stays on as I drive for approximately 20seconds. I don’t believe this is normal. Is it happening to anyone else?

Normal until you get to 12 mph. The front camera should be on in drive. Very handy in parking lots.

Are you implying that the front camera should be on while driving down the highway @55 or only when you push the button to activate it for parking purposes?

12 mph not 55

It comes on when you put it in reverse or push the button - below 12 mph. Once it has been activated, it stays on until you turn it off with the button or until you reach 12 MPH. It is pretty standard on most vehicles to do that now. Even my 2017 GMC Sierra truck does that.

ALL of this and MORE are covered thoroughly in Chapter 5 of the Owners Manual. Takes maybe 30 minutes to read. No quiz at the end.. but lots of info like this. The phrase RTFM comes to mind, but I guess that would be the death of car forums and Facebook automobile groups.

I thought it was odd at 1st, even distracting as I was used to the car switching the cameras off as soon as I shifted to D or N. After getting used to it I have found it can be useful.
