  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am a new GV80 owner and am wondering if there is a capability to eliminate the Fastlane device that we have to have stuck on the windshield. Any direction / suggestions would be great.

You can hold it out the window. If you don't use it often, just toss in on the dash when needed.
Someone mentioned they had it mounted on the glass roof and it worked.

At one time they had an external mounted transponder for the license plate mount but I don't think they are available.

FastLane, Sunpass, along with I-Pass and several others are part of the EZ-Pass network and their transponders work in 18 states. I-Pass now uses a small sticker that goes on the inside of the windshield. If you don't want to use the SunPass device any longer (though I am sure that stickers are coming) - you could always register for an I-Pass instead, and have a new sticker sent to you.

Sunpass has had those stickers for years, I got mine when I moved here in 2016. It still works and has restuck to the windshield of the three cars I have owned since then.

Any recommendations for the best place to put the I-Pass/EZ Pass sticker, hopefully so it can't be seen?

I've heard of people putting them on the glass of the sunroof. You may want to tape it in place to see if it works there. Mine is to the right side of the mirror, up high. Can be seen, but I don't really care as long as it works. Same location for over 20 years.

I have mine (Sunpass) on the windshield just below the dark band next to the camera box by the mirror. But the Sunpass is a think sticker. It has been a while since I had a ez pass but they were plastic boxes. I had a lincoln that had a electric defroster built into the windshield that the ez pass could not read through. EZ Pass made one that bolted to the top of your licence plate made for that type of windshield. Might be an option.
