  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just received an app notification that a update is coming. It asked to verify email address. Good news!

I haven't, at least not yet.

What do you mean by an "app notification"? A notification in your mobile app? If so, I just checked and no such notification appeared.

Also, an update to what? Your mobile app? The car?

It asked to verify email address.
Are you sure this isn't some sort of phishing attempt? Any kind of notification that asks for personal information immediately makes me suspicious. Why would Genesis need to verify your email address to do an update?

Its was a Genesis App notification on my Android. It took me to my Genesis App profile but all my info was correct. Don't have any other info.

Had the same notification and when doing what was requested to verify email address and phone number it took me to the profile. Nothing strange about it just I guess they wanted to make 100% sure that the details for communicating are current as people change those frequently.

Good to hear that I am not the only one.

I just had an update of the Canadian app download to my iPhone this morning - the update states that it contains bug fixes. I can't see any change. The Apple Watch climate issue still exists.

The "tutorial" showing where the refresh button is still pops up every time I open the app after the CA bug fix update... not super sure what bugs they're fixing haha

They are going to start implementing two factor authentication for the app/website. That is why they are asking to confirm email and phone number.

From what I’ve seen, the recent app update is a substantial downgrade. The app has become unresponsive, and just about any attempt to send a command to the car or view its status returns a “This is taking too long, call us for help”message.

Yup, same for me. A major waste of time of an update.

Is it just me or don't we find it strange they would ask to validate your email address in the app for just an app update? I thought this would be more of a vehicle software update. App updates occur pretty frequently.

I think that this is one of those situations where it’s really important to have the region and device operating system of the user.

The iOS application in the US has not been updated in at least a month. About a month ago the Genesis website began promoting to verify email and phone number for their move to 2FA. Honestly not sure why they weren’t already using 2FA, but that’s besides the point.

Their software update site is showing June as the release date for the nav/multimedia system in most regions. It’s too soon for a change log, so we’ll have to wait to see what they’ve added (hopefully wireless CP/AA).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
So are you recommending that we not install it?
I was forced to install the most recent few updates via an in-app popup blocking the interface, so I don’t think there’s much of a choice tbh
