  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is it normal for a 2024 gv70 with 4500 miles on it for the motor to make a loud ticking noise?

I hope not. Non-mechanic here, but has it always been this way?
Does it happen when idling too, or only when you're moving?
Could there be a rock stuck between tire treads, or possibly a screw in the tread?

I have only had it for about 4 months and don’t recall it doing it when I first got the car. It does it when idling de definitely coming from the motor.

Fuel injectors…..normal
Good to hear it's normal.
As a non-mechanic, I tried to learn more about it and did a quick web search (I know, don't believe everything you read on the web). The first thing that popped up was the AI-generated response below, with a "please verify critical facts" CYA at the bottom. According to the response, yes, it's normal (Woohoo! Great news). Then it goes on to show some of the possible root causes for it, such as "low fuel pressure" and a "faulty fuel pump". My 2022 GV70 already went through 1 recall to replace the low-pressure fuel pump, and now there's apparently another one coming up soon affecting other VINs. There's also the bit about "incorrect fuel type or quality" which has been a topic on this forum.

Anyway, I thought I'd post this as an FYI to others who might be experiencing a loud ticking noise from their fuel injectors.
