  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I had this problem arise in October 2022 when the weather started to get cold in the Mid-Atlantic area where I live. I initially monitored the different threads on here and purchased 2 blend actuators, one for the pax side and the mode actuator for the defrost to the vents to the floor by accident. I removed the driver's side lower dash section and realized I had not ordered the correct blend actuator after removing it. It was super cold so I did a temp fix with a rubber band that worked like a charm. (Only issue with the temp fix was that it was always full blast hot with no way to stop it) so I was riding around with the windows down on warmer days. Ordered the correct blend actuator and replaced it today and the system is back to 100%, I could actually hear the new actuator motor clicking as I adjusted the temperature. Not sure how many pictures that I can attach but it might help anyone with a similar issue. I purchased all three actuators from Rock Auto. Please feel free to ask any questions.Blast tube closeup.webpDash 1.webpDash 3.webpDash A.webpDash A1.webpDash A2.webpDash A3.webpDrivers Blend Actuator RMVD Temp Fix.webpFloor Light.webp

Nice.

Sweet man, thanks for the documentation. I just had the vent issue where it seemed like it was activating the vents but it seemed like it wasn't opening all the way. I had a shop replace it for me, actually its with them at the moment. They ordered the part and are just waiting for it to come in. Pretty sure its the mode actuator because i have no other issues with the actual temp not blowing the temp its set to. I also had issues with the inside of the car always fogging up during the winter and when it gets really cold, it would literally freeze and i would have layered ice on the inside of the windows, couple that with the defrost not working and it used to be a disaster. I would keep a 5050 bottle with water and alcohol so at least it would melt enough so i could see outside but i finally decided on getting it fixed cause it was literally an accident waiting to happen.

No problem. Def sounds like the Mode Actuator which appears to be right above the driver's blend actuator. In one of the pictures it has the yellow rotary wheel. That is def a no go situation with having thee windscreen icing up while driving. Hope they get it taken care of for you.

what was the part number please..

My windshield is not getting the air when I put it on it so the door/lever is broken/stuck.

Is this the same actuator you have listed and will require dissembling the dash i assume? The dealer quoted me $4200 for this lol.

This part number 73398 is for the heater door actuator for the left side of the car. The actuator model that you need is right about the one I replaced because I purchased it by accident, Part Number 73376. $37.89 on Rock Auto. I have it if I ever need it. That price is ridiculous. I disassembled my dash twice, once for the temp fix when I realized I got the wrong part and the second time with new part in less than 4 hours. Please verify this part before you buy it, it's been a while since I did this. Rock Auto states in the Info blue tab that it controls where the air is directed in what Mode.

Pretty sure I got the same info from Gunkk. Check out my pictures which aren't exactly in order but shows step by step. I've been in aviation maintenance for 42 years so this wasn't an issue. I had the garage heat on which helped a bit. Common tools and the trim kit was less than $20 on Amazon which has already paid for itself.
