  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So to begin, I actually haven't had many cars in my 15~ years of driving. My first car was a 1986 Mitsubishi Starion. Which is definitely not a vehicle I would recommend most people start off with. They are quite quirky and are nearly nonexistent especially nowadays. But, be that as it may I became really familiar with forums. The starquest community was something of a necessity to learn about the Starion and or Conquest. The what can and can't do's, and just generally informative topics. I certainly learned a lot. Anyway, that car ended up being my project car as it made more sense to me given all the upkeep and plans I had. Which led me getting a FRS/BRZ/GT86 shortly after they came out. She'd be my fun yet dependable daily driver. But now that the car is far removed from any kind of warranty coverage; the G70 is taking the title of my fun yet dependable daily.
I don't quite know the exact route I'll be taking with my 86 but as of now I have:

Black painted housings for both headlights and taillights
Tein coil-overs
Custom BC Forged wheels (18x9.5²)
AEM panel filter
JDL uel header
JDL up pipe
Custom Borla axle-back
Tuned on e85 (off the shelf tune)

The Starion and Conquest were pretty cool cars when they came out back in the 80s. That was a time when so many cool new cars were on the road. Shortly after you had the Mitsubishi 3000GT and Dodge Stealth. But there were so many. I so miss those days...

I don't see many new GT86s on the road, but they're pretty cool cars as well. Head-turning design, if you ask me. I guess the G70 is your luxury cruiser with good power - and the GT86 is the race car. :)

If I recall correctly they were on-par with the Porche 944 at the time. Impressive for a car that was a fraction of the cost.

I'd agree. The car still looks great for being over 10 years old. I do plan on keeping the G70 in that category yes. I'll get some nice wheels and possibly air suspension but not much more than that.

Older picture with my CCW's in what is the cars natural habitat

I had a '78 Dodge/Mitsubishi Challenger. It was my first Japanese car and my first 4 cylinder. It was a fun, sport little thing, though not fast. I always liked the Starion/Concorde turbos. Very nice looking cars.

Definitely. I miss mine all the time. There was some misfortune a few years back where I had to sell it but acquiring another is on my list of to-do's. Just need some more space for it.

I'm surprised that I haven't seen any of the old Mitsubishi cars in decades, even in SoCal.

Another car I've always liked but I seem to be the minority there. I liked that design better than the 911 at the time.
