  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I have a ‘15 genesis 3.8 with 73k miles. My rear camera for some reason doesn’t work. When I put it in reverse nothing happens on my screen. Like I don’t get a blue/black screen or any change.

I tried everything from checking the harness (Hyundai bulletin), replacing the camera, playing with the settings, etc.. running out of ideas

Any suggestions are appreciated!

What turns the camera on? If the shift linkage hits a switch, I'd suspect it is not hitting or a defective switch.
If it is the computer, much more involved.

I'd check for voltage along the way, but my guess it is zero.

So the thing is, when I was playing around with the setting in the engineering menu and I uncheck Parking Assist 1 the screen will turn black when put in reverse with the lines displayed.

But parking assist 1 must be on since this is a DIS - Jog Dial vehicle. As per: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2017/MC-10125168-9999.pdf

Really not sure what the issue is here.
Ps. Tried installing a replacement camera with the other options and the new ones still didn’t work.
