Meanwhile, delighted as I am to have all the goodies that come with wireless CarPlay, and not meaning to be greedy, but does anyone know, is this all we are getting in the way of updates for this year? Has anyone discovered any updates in this package that go beyond CarPlay related things? Does anyone know if Hyundai is going to abandon updating their own maps now that we all have ready access to Apple and Google maps? Has anyone heard anything about Hyundai updating any other things?
This is not true - I am still using wired connectivity with the new update. I've got a mount for my phone set up that makes wired pretty easy, and for anything other than a short trip I want the phone plugged in anyway. I'm waiting to see what other users report as far as responsiveness before switching. I'd rather plug in if the wireless is laggy.once the update is installed, the wired connectivity is lost
So a quick update for Canadians (Even though I think some of you in canada got it for some reason). I contacted both MapnSoft chat, and called in to genesis navigation update support. Both says it's NOT available for the GV60 yet. The guy from genesis navigation support said likely October, as it should only be available for G70/G80/Gv70/gv80 right now.
I don't know how accurate this is, but, definitely jealous of you guys that have it right now.
I think it’s just a question of waiting for the file to be compiled for download, rather than a special Canadian update. The US doesn’t have it on the site either for the same reason - it’s not ready, but they have the luxury of OTA to deploy it.So, this is just a random thought. Didn't see or read this anywhere, not even a rumour. Just pure rampant speculation on my part. But....
Maybe. Just maybe. there's going to be something a little extra in this one for us floppy headed Canucks. We're missing a few features that other regions get. Digital Key for example. They did say in January, for Canada, "Launched on the new enhanced 2024 G70 sport sedan, Digital Key will be available on other models soon." Or maybe proper OTA support, clearly we're not getting this one OTA like everywhere else.
I'm not an owner (yet), but I didn't know the screen started up blank instead of the last used function. That's just odd, especially for radio display. Is it safe to assume that the radio station (or source) is remembered and commences playing at startup, or do you have to manually turn on the radio every time?> Default MMI to Radio, NAV, etc.… on startup instead of blank screen.
As soon as I plug in my phone it jumps to CarPlay, so this hasn't been an issue for me. Not sure what it will do with the new wireless CarPlay.I didn't know the screen started up blank
That would be very nice. I'm not holding my breath though. Especially on i-Pedal, I think if they did that they would have to post reduced range numbers, which I'm sure they don't want to do. But a boy can dream.Add a setting to permanently enable:
> 1PD (i-Pedal) maximum setting
> Lane Centering
I have successfully downloaded the new 240826 Software version. I did have to leave the car running in the garage. I deleted my iPhone and reconnected via Bluetooth and then went to Projections and clicked on the "Apple CarPlay" icon and it showed my iPhone and then attempted to connect CarPlay but was unsuccessful??? However, if I connect it with the cable CarPlay does show up. I've tried getting the wireless connection to work multiple times with no success. I can play music and audio books via Bluetooth but the CarPlay icon doesn't show up on the infotainment screen unless I connect using the USB cable?? Anybody else having this problem? This is not true - I am still using wired connectivity with the new update. There is a setting to start with audio off. Haven't driven enough with the new update to comment on AA wireless. It will start with last audio on, but the screen is a very dark image of nothing.I'm not an owner (yet), but I didn't know the screen started up blank instead of the last used function. I remember that you have to go into your phone settings and make an adjustment. Then it will work.I have successfully downloaded the new 240826 Software version. I deleted my iPhone and reconnected it a couple of times. I also went into the CarPlay setting on my iPhone and it shows the GV60. Not sure what I need to do. Hopefully someone here can advise.I remember that you have to go into your phone settings and make an adjustment. Then it will work.
Hi Saratoga Lefty- I was having similar problems yesterday. Fellow member IcSS55 kindly suggested the following solution, which worked for me: "Delete the cars profile in CarPlay from settings. Delete the GV60 Bluetooth profile. Remove the phone from the connected devices in the car. Then, go to Phone Projection in the car, and add the phone from there. Ignore the prompt to plug the phone in. Just hit add device and follow the prompts. That should work." Give it a try and let us know whether it works for you.I have successfully downloaded the new 240826 Software version. I did have to leave the car running in the garage. Regarding the “setting to permanently enable”: the last thing this car needs is more friggin’ settings. The right (read simple) way to do this is to just have the car remember the last setting for these features. So when is the fall update? lol But seriously this update rocks!
Incase Genesis is reading – My wish list:
• Fix ‘Smart Support’ seat bolster bug (it worked first engine cycle after update)
• Manual battery conditioning
• Enable walk away lock
• Add a setting to permanently enable:
> 1PD (i-Pedal) maximum setting
> Lane Centering
> Auto high beams
> Default MMI to Radio, NAV, etc.… on startup instead of blank screen.
