  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
This car came in with low miles (79k) as a 2012 luxury vehicle. I loved it at the get go BUT, am regretting buying it a year later. It's too much of a luxury for me. Still don't have 80k yet and it's in beautiful condition. I had a Camry prior, loved it til my neighbor totaled it in the parking lot. I bought this for 15k (I know) and just saw Edmunds selling one, close to mine for 14,950. Blue book is about 6k - UGH ! I wish I could sell it and get another Camry but for you that like the Genesis, no offense.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us... So! What is it about the luxury of the Genesis you don't like? I know the Camry is a great car but the Genesis is quite a bit of an upgrade...

Thank you for asking. The first frustration is the dashlights on occasion will pop up, not constantly but enough to give concern. I had one come on and Les Schwab just fixed it and all was fine until recently. The light that shows now is cruise control - I've had it run on the meter and apparently it's due to moisture/condensation. Most of the codes aren't in the owners manual, so I did a lot of searching to get that far. Of course mechanics will take a look for the cost of an appointment, etc. I'm on soc sec disability and have to watch the $. I only use the car for medical appts, etc.
Sometimes the console info won't show reverse, on the screen....it's black with red and blue lines in the shape of a parking spot. There area few other minor frustrations, but those are the biggest at this point.
It's just too NY Town car feel. Windows are darker than most cars, Slick black color is nice though.
Thank you again,
Diane Daly

Thank you for the explanations. It sounds like you need to have the window tint removed. The windows are only dark because the previous owner had them tinted. That should help - especially at night. The car does have some high tech options and they can be a little overwhelming. But that's one of the things communities like this exist for. If you have questions, just ask.
