  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey Everyone,

I have an unusual question for the group. I need a set of winter wheels for my GV70 2.5T Prestige. I already have a set of 19” winter but I’ve been looking for rims. I came across someone selling a set from Genesis for the G70 which are 19x8 and 19x8.5.

Does anyone know if I can run a squared tire size but have two different size rims without causing any issues? I imagine such a small difference is probably yes but I want to make sure before I pull the trigger.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Oh, you mean the front two wheels are 19x8 and the rear are 19x8.5? Weird, but it shouldn't cause any problems. I bought after-market wheels that are 19x8.5 and they've been fine (though all 4 are the same). The offset might be different too but still...can't imagine it being a problem.

Careful on those. Just because they are genesis, doesn't mean they work. Depending on the wheel, I have seen G70 wheels with much higher offset than our stock 19", like 46.5 or something for the wider rear wheels. That will actually have the front wheels stick out more flush than rear on our vehicles, which looks dorky, but may also result in contact with rear suspension components.

I went a different route but do you know if we can run a 47 offset?

I'd guess not on 19" rims, recommended range is 37 to 41.
So I’m looking at the wheel specs for the different sizes. My car comes with 19x8 +39 from the factory. The GV70 also can come with 20x8.5+47.

So I’m curious why a 19x8.5 +47 wouldn’t work. Seems like it would.

The 20s are on the electrified model - totally different. But ask a wheel specialist...they should know.
