Shark fin antenna cap

I have a 2013 Equus. The shark fin antenna cap came off in the car wash. Anyone know where I can get a replacement cap? Hyundai says I need to replace the entire antenna system. I bought a replacement cap from Amazon which said it would fit. It did not.

I purchased mine from eBay. I had the same thing happen after going thru a car wash it fell off.

Yes it worked and it's still on there. The car wash company hired someone to put it on for me since it happened in the car wash and they reimbursed me for the fin.

I put my original fin back on using ultra-black RTV. It's still doing fine.

How does it normally attach? I want to wrap the roof behind the moonroof and need to remove the fin. I'm assuming the right way is to drop the headliner and remove the antenna completely but if I can get just the cover portion of the fin off without doing all that, it would make it so much easier.

The fin cover is attached to the fin assembly by several small screws from underneath the assembly. To get to those, you have to remove the whole antenna assembly first. To do that, you have to drop the headliner, remove the nut holding it to the roof, disconnect the antenna wiring, and pull it through the hole.

Unfortunately, they made the plastic bosses on the fin cover too short and too thin. In hot climates, they crack and break over time. Eventually, enough of them have broken that a slight bump, like a car wash brush knocks them the rest of the way off. Knowing that, I checked mine often enough that I caught it before it flew off.

Anyway, I wouldn't attempt to drop the headliner without knowing exactly where all the attachment points are. It is way too easy to crease or otherwise damage it.

Its happened to me before I just sealed the cap of antenna with headlight sealant by Morimoto RetroRubber Black A330 it's fit back nicely without any issues right now
