  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So title. The other day, the driver seat started making a weird noise when moving back. It sounds fine moving forwards. I checked under the seat and there was nothing in the way of the track. I am going to attach a video for y’all to hear the sound.

What do yall think? Do you think something is actually stuck somewhere under, something came lose, or that something is wrong with the motor?

It sounds loud to me both ways.

Do you hear the distinct noise when it’s going back though?
Yes, it seems to be varying the speed or vibrating, maybe straining going backwards . But still seems very loud to me. Has it always been that loud? Mine is almost silent. All I hear is the leather rubbing against the center console. Does it sound the same with a load (Sitting in it?) BTY, any car I have owned, the same motor is used for forward and back, so that might help in the diagnosis.

Yes, it’s always been that loud besides the strange sound when going back. And it sounds the same with someone sitting in it.

Do you think something is caught under the seat or like a screw or bracket came loose or it’s something with the motor?

It is hard not being there, but I would try to find the motor and see if you can grab it when it is running and see if you can "feel" the noise. the same with the big screw that it turns. It might lead you to the noise location. The long screw might just need some grease. I know they are greased when you get them new.
