  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, looking for guidance and input, I have a high mileage sedan 2012, everytime I take a corner and or accelerate I’m heating some kind of knocking noise during the acceleration, as soon as I let off the noise disappears, but once I accelerate again the noise is present. Wanting to see if anyone has had this happen and can weigh in on maintenance issues to correct the problem. I am a women and have an appointment with a maintenance shop next week, we all know how shops can start compiling a laundry list of items not necessary. Thanks in advance

Can you tell the location of "knocking", front, back, left or right? Thinking driveshaft U-joint or a motor mount. My 2014 3.8 has 228K and I don't have that issue. Smart people on this forum.

I believe the knocking/flutter sound is coming from the front, as mentioned it’s heard when you are lightly accelerating (lower speed)

Could be your MAF sensor or TPS? How is the engine at harder acceleration?
