  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Unles you know otherwise, it looks like 2025 is the last production year. I cannot see any other car I would want so thinking of trading in my 2019 3.3T for a 2024-25 3.3 with low mileage.'
My question is the timing- do it ASAP or wait till the finish line for the car (August 2025?) What direction with the price go when it is discontinued? A topic here says they are not even making 3.3T's anymore, so maybe the price goes up

My rough guess would be that, as the supply of G70s goes down, the price would go up. However, sometimes less popular option combos can sit on the lots long after a model has been discontinued and eventually receive steep discounts. You might snag a good deal by waiting if you're not too picky about options, but if you want a particular option or color it would probably be safer to buy it sooner rather than later.

You could also wait a few years and pick up a used 2024-2025 after the original leases start to expire.

Realistically, I wouldn't try to second-guess near future market pricing on the G70. Instead, you'd be better off buying when you NEED TO. That means, if your '19 is running fine and you are happy with it for the time being, then wait as long as you possibly can before pulling the trigger. But... in the meantime, monitor the market listings to get a good feel of how much dealers have in inventory.

Right now, from what can see, dealers have lots of G70s, either on the lot of incoming, so discounts are quite good. If and when production does finally stop, pricing likely won't start to rise, unless there are hordes of watching buyers - like you - that are just chomping at the bits to pull the trigger, ready to pounce at the slightest sign of pricing strength. I highly doubt that. G70 has never been strong sellers for Genesis. That isn't going to change just because it is being discontinued.

More than likely, what will happen is the more popular colors and trims will get scooped up first. Dealers can't raise prices on the less liked ones, because, well... they are less liked for a reason. They might even have to drop prices more to clearance them out. I've seen this time and time again in past car shopping experience. So, if you are keen certain color(s), you do not want to wait till pickings are slim.

Sensible good advice. If everyone followed it, the auto industry would collapse.

I agree- I understand the difference between need and want , especially from what I see in Beverly Hills, BUT

I do not see any alternatives coming on line. The medium size sport coupe/sedan is dominated by the Germans. I will not buy a mercedes again, I hear BMW's are overpriced and like to have expensive repairs and I suspect Audi (would be the S4) will be a headache also.

I drove the Lexus LC 500- not really any better handling/acceleration than my G70 (actually drives much heavier on turns ) and Much more $$

The Lexus FC350 is a dud and FC 5.0 liters are not to be found

See a great deal for a 2023 G70 sport with only 5K miles

Unless anyone can see somethng I want coming on the market , I 'm going for it.

The car dealer industry feeds off impulse buying, trend chasing, herd following, and buyer's info & patient deficit. All the easier to fall prey to dealer games and tactics.

I would tell folks I love the car buying process, but not many would believe me. There are right and wrong ways for go about it. Not many bother to learn the former and end up complaining about how stressful it is to deal with car salespersons.
