  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not our first EV - we also have a Polestar 2 LRDM, and we have a 2107 Land Rover Discovery HSE Td6 as our adventure / road trip vehicle.

The GV60 replaced a 2022 Volvo XC60 B5 Inscription.

Picked it up Saturday.

Thanks @Sal Collaziano !

Drives great. Amazing features. Love the interior. Doesn't look like anything else on the road - despite its supposed popularity, don't see many on the road here, so it turns heads. Super comfortable, and the B&O audio is top notch.

Not as quick as my Polestar 2 and more body lean even in Sport, but the PS2 (Pilot, Plus packs with 20" 40-series tires) is designed to be a little more sporty, sits much lower.

The Landy is for off-road and long road trips - it's a diesel and gets over 500 miles of range. I'll drive that thing till the wheels fall off - despite many Land Rover jokes, it has actually been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned, including among Subaru, 2x Volvos, Hyundai, GM products, and Mazda. I lost money on its extended warranty - never used it.

Edit: I joined the forum because after 1.5 days of driving and 125 miles, after it's first charge on my home L2, the 12V battery died, while plugged in to the charger. The charger worked - took the battery up to 90% (92%, actually)...but woke up this morning and it was dead. Jumped the 12V l, came back to life, ran it in the garage until auto shut-down...will see what that was about but the dealer initially blamed me for leaving it in ACC mode (we didn't) and then "leaving the doors unlocked while it was charging," which if true, is not noted in the manual anywhere, and would be an utterly stupid feature anyway.

The remedy is the Performance model with a tire change (I swapped out my Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and it is an entirely different car. The extra HP and torque in the Performance model takes care of the "quick" issue and the new tires essentially solves (or at least mitigates) the body lean issue.

But, in general, one can always expect a sedan to handle better than an SUV.

I don't think the GV60 is that popular. Most folks who like the features you are describing prefer larger vehicles. I have always considered myself an unusual if not weird consumer who prefers a smaller vehicle but one with luxury and power. Most car companies don't have a vehicle that combines all three of these. The GV60 did that for me. It appears that you may be the other unicorn in the marketplace.

The GV60 is my wife's daily, she's coming from a Volvo XC60 B5 Inscription. I was actually quite surprised that she fell so hard for the GV60 - we had been looking at a GV70 Electrified and a Lexus RZ. The RZ is very nice - the rear legroom is limo-like and the infotainment and sound were superb, but it just didn't have the range, and the 450e Luxury trim was very hard to find. Plus that Lexus shape is everywhere. The GV60 Advanced has just the right amount of power that she likes - she isn't really a speed demon but enjoys being able to get out of others' way when she wants to. We live in Colorado, so we'll be switching to snow tires shortly.

What puzzles me about Genesis is they forced the dealers to punch all of their 24's and stopped offering incentives on them. The 25's are now on the lot for a few days at a time before they go, but there are a bunch of 24's sitting around with rust on their brake calipers and the dealers don't even care to talk about them. The '26 is supposedly getting battery improvements and a barely perceptible facelift, but in any case, Genesis considers all 24's "sold".

Anyway, now that she has the GV60, when the Polestar lease is up, I'll probably move to a well-sorted pre-owned Cayman GTS or Lotus Emira as a fun car. EVs are "town cars" for us.

Two rather different vehicles. I may be driving what Genesis calls an SUV (I think it is really a raised hatch) but I still prefer the driving characteristics of a coupe or sedan to that of an SUV. One can have fun driving any Porsche but IMHO if you want fun, go for the Lotus!

I am very much in lust with the Emira. Have seen a few around.

Agree on the "raised hatch" designation for the GV60. Even the Polestar 2 is a bit high off the ground, though the roofline and seating position make it feel like a much lower car, and the suspension is well tuned.

Glad to hear you've had a great experience with the Land Rover. I don't hear that often. Then again, I don't have my ear to the ground on that brand. Genesis vehicles are typically intended to favor luxury over sport - though I think they do a great job at both - and are a great mix of both. Keep us posted on the battery issue. These are popular topics for a lot of EV vehicles and I'm sure it'll all get perfected in the not too distant future...
