  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thank you! I'm glad you like them. :)

P.S. Your account still shows Genesis Coupe ownership. That can be updated here if you'd like.

Was it easy removing the old genesis logo from the hood and Genesis back hatch logo? How did you remove?

The design element I dislike on my GV60 is the chrome trim above the doors. I was hoping to see some black trim there instead. Nothing?

Thanks.

Steve

Nothing yet, but I will make an announcement if/when I get something. In the meantime, plastidip may be the best answer...

For all but the latest models (2024 and newer), you can remove the emblems pretty easily with dental floss or fishing wire. All you need to do is cut through the double sided tape holding the emblems on. There are alignment pins that you can't cut through - but they don't hold the emblems on. They only exist for positioning of the emblems. This kit can help:

And this video should help as well. It's removing a Hyundai emblem - but it's the same idea...

Can’t find the video.Thanks Karl

I had all the chrome deleted with Matte Black the hood emblem taken off and put a GEN two Matte black then I had all the letters in the back taken off and put new ones in Matte Black. My next endeavor is to either polish the piano black pillars on the outside or have them wrapped with matte black or matte dark gray to match the SUV. I already tinted the windows tinted the top 6 inches of the windshield. I might buy the seat emblems soon and the Genesis valve stem covers this spring. I believe I bought everything but the tint from KDM. My GV70 Malaysian gray is starting to look better and better the rims I’m happy with they’re a dark color. They kind of match the color of the car so those are staying put. I wish there was someone I could go to to have Alcantara on my seats stitched over with cross-stitched leather instead. They stain easily. They’re hard to maintain and I know because my Dodge Challenger has them. Does anyone know if anyone makes black exhaust tips? There’s no way you can wrap them the heat they eventually builds up will definitely do something to them either they fall off or they get distorted right?

Share some pictures of your GV70! I'm sure it looks amazing... And the idea about black exhaust tips - that's a good one... I'm not sure what may be available but perhaps look around the forum below and/or create a new topic to see what people think:

I used fishing line to cut through the adhesive and gently pryed them up. There are 2 posts that go into the body through holes for orientation, the replacements don't have those posts so make sure you use tape or something to help get them back in the right place. Also take notice that the rear emblem is smaller than the front one. Use good quality adhesive remover so you don't damage your paint.

How do your tires do in snow? Do you have winter tires? My Coupe has 22” I may have to get a new set for winter, thinking to go down to 20” but not sure if I should down size or just get winter 22”? Let me know your thoughts.

Nice! But I like the look of the dark chrome, just trying to find a product to protect it.

Conversion to black, and the removal of GV70 & AWD chrome.
