  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm currently leasing a 2025 G70 2.5T Sport Prestige AWD. After 3 months the P045507 code appeared. The dealership ran a smoke test and no leaks appeared. 2 months later it has now happened again. I have another appointment, but the first time they basically told me to make sure the gas cap is on correctly. I put it on the same way everytime. It only goes on and clicks once to lock. I can click it as many times as I want for good measure but it doesn't tighten any further. What else could it be? I'm very frustrated as this car only has 4,200 miles.

Did it go away by itself the first time?

No. The dealership cleared the code. It has not gone away this time by itself either, despite trying to fasten the cap again. So, it's going back to the shop.

I had that with my 2014 Maxima a couple of times, not yet with my G70. The first time it went away by itself after a few days. The second time, with about 90k miles on it, I took it to the dealer. They wanted to do $3000 of work. I said no thanks. It went off by itself two weeks later and didn’t come back on for the next four years that I owned it.

Fortunately I'm leasing it. So, I will report it to the dealership everytime it happens. If they want to service it with valet & a superior loaner each time, so be it. I definitely won't be purchasing this vehicle at lease end!!

Really? It’s a minor issue. The car is amazing, why let a tiny issue cloud a great experience and vehicle?

It is a great vehicle as was my 2019 G70. I will just lease a 2028 G70 when my lease is up rather than purchase out my current 2025 if I know it has an issue.

Hope there is a 2028!
