  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Did a quick search and didn't find anything

Problem, the controller on the dash will no longer scroll

Turned it left and right repeatedly, doesn't work

Hit it down hard on it numberous time, no help

Called to local dealers, never heard of the problem.

Anyone have this probelm in the past, any easy fix??

thanks!

Mike

You mean the DIS knob in the console? When you turn it it doesn't reflect in the display?
If so, I recall that happening to someone else here. But I think it self-resolved after turning off the car for 15 or 30 minutes.

Yes, the knob.

It will move in the menu left or right, when you push on it, but it won't scroll

It's been 10 days, not going to re-boot itself

Your dealer must not do much in the way of research. Failure of the DIS knob has been noted several times on this forum. Mine bit the dust about a year after I bought my car. It took my dealer several weeks to get the part, but the replacement was completed in a matter of hours.

Tell your dealer you need a new DIS knob, and ask them to check with their regional reps, whom I'm sure will educate them on the problem Genny's have had with them.
