  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Purchase Details so we all can prosper!

Date 9/25/08
Model V6Tech Cabernet/Cashmere
State TX
Buy/Lease Buy
Final Negotiated Price on Sales Invoice $37,363.00
Financed at 1.9%/60mos

Anyone who is looking for deals, the Houston area just got absolutely smacked by that hurricane. Needless to say people with no power or hot water (still a lot of us even 2 weeks later!) are not out buying cars, and the dealerships are very hungry to move inventory right now as they've basically been shut down for half the month. Plus Texas has the low APR financing incentive. So, there are Genesises (Genesi?) to be had for the plucking down here if you want to make the trip. Happy hunting.

Watch out for flood damaged vehicles!

Just Curious.... has anyone that is trying to purchase, not rent a Genesis, run in to trouble getting a new car loan? If you go by what ABC news has been saying the last two evenings you can't get car loans even with good credit. I figure with some of you being at that stage right now who better to ask?

i have not. i think this is more media scare. anyone that has good credit can get a car loan, mortgage, etc.... no problem.

If you have good credit- you have no problems getting a loan.

Mine is 800+ and it is so easy to get a loan.

Date: 8/29/08
Model: V8 Tech
Province: Quebec, Canada
Buy/Lease: Lease
Final Negotiated Price on Lease Invoice: $46,360
Down Payment $0
Rebate: $0
Dealer installed options: $0
Interest Rate:3.9%
Residual Value:46%
Monthly Payment: $633.44 plus sales tax
Warranty or Protection Plan: 60 months bumper to bumper, $3,500 excess wear warranty coverage

2009 Genesis 4.6 w/ Tech Package
Black w/ Black
Mods: none

Note: Unfortunately, in Canada, we pay higher prices, nonetheless this was a great deal in my marketplace. Monthly payment was less than Acura TL, Infinti G series for same model year. We can buy in the US, but Canadian compliance acceptance issues, warranty coverage and lack of lease deal make that less attractive than just staying with Canadian dealer.

How do you guys get your credit in the 800's the highest mine has been was 730:confused:

the same thing that someone would say who has 500 how do you get higher...

you just have to better credit- personally if I buy let's say $20,000+ in credit card charges in one account- I always pay it off- no matter how much I spend- I pay it
off- I never pay service fees- I only carry 3 cc's- all signature ones- with very high
limits- but never balances at the end of the month

that is a good way to get 800+ scores

Exactly. The ratio of credit available/credit used is a major weight factor in the FICO score. It is also imperative, of course, to avoid any late pays - those really hurt your score.

And now, on to my purchase details!
V6 Tech Package (sapphire blue/tan interior)
Price: $38,500
Driveout: Oh boy, I left the docs at home. Guesstimating $40,900 (incl. local 6% tax).

congratulations on your new baby...

always nice to have a baby with no genitals but four cool tires...

Yup, human babies are all well and good, of course, but I love my Genesis. Makes Atlanta metro traffic enjoyable!

By the way, I forgot to mention that I had a $500 rebate coupon from the Discovery Tour, which effectively made my purchase price a bit below the $38,500. It gets applied after tag, taxes, etc.

yes appears you got an okay deal ShoNuff... main thing if you are happy... a good deal.

any deal where you can get the car "OTD- taxes, license fees, etc. included" for
MSRP and under is good negotiating deal- and when I consider a deal as good- I
do not include any rebates, coupons, etc.

Another thought...

I guess the Hyundai Dealers are having some pains selling some of these cars- I just received an email from a local GSM and even though that dealership offerred to sell
my any 2009 Genesis V6 or V8 Tech Package for a really low price- Into Holdback-
at the time they were making maybe $100.00 total- now he will sell me one off his lot
for basically- Actual Dealer Invoice minus the 2% Holdback- and I am still not quick to
the deal- and really it would be Actual Dealer Invoice minus the 2% Holdback minus
$500 Genesis Coupon.

I kind of like this guy. Genesis coupon is a Hyundai thing n ot a dealer thing so the dealer loses no money on the coupon deal.

$38500 sounds like a good price for the Tech. Same price I was offered in Ct. I was visiting my daughter in Atlanta last week and we stopped in at Hyundai dealer where they wanted msrp PLUS a $1500 market adjustment PLUS $495 for a dealer add-on PLUS $995 for another dealer add-on. I will give this particular dealer credit for really promoting the Genesis...he had at least a dozen cars on display. Here in Connecticut, the most inventory I've seen at a dealer is 3 cars.

Wow, those markups are way higher than I've seen at most Atlanta area Hyundai dealers. If your daughter is planning to buy, she might want to check out Ed Voyles Hyundai in Smyrna. They were very pleasant to work with, and didn't have any silly dealer markups.

THAT was the place!!!!!! I am quoting the numbers on the window sticker.

??! Wow, that's puzzling. I just bought my car there 8 days ago...
then again, I never really looked at the sticker. I dealt with them over the internet and had a price agreed on before I got there. I'll have to see if I saved my window sticker and take a gander at it. Whoops, no, that's not gonna help. My car was a dealer swap, so it would have the sticker from the other dealer. Um... I guess the moral of the story is to go through their internet sales dept. :D

I never discussed prices with a sales person so maybe it's a dealer sales ploy; buy it for "only" msrp and look at the bargain you're getting.

I still think it is funny even with those outrageous dealer market adjustments on the cars... and thinking that buyers think they scored a deal by negotiating- not having to pay the market adjustment and paying msrp... that is too funny...

but it is a sales game... some people hate to negotiate... while I enjoy it ... since you always have to remember one thing... the worse the dealership can say is No... and if
by chance you do not know anybody at the dealership and they say... Yes once you made your offer... then my minds starts to say... damn... I offerred too much

Any buyer with the above mindset deserves to get screwed. It your money and spend it anyway you like.....

I'm waiting for the economy to get better (gasp, gag, and guffaw) - when I can get 1.9 financing for 60 months and a price that MAKES me want to buy the car - then I will.

They will be giving cars away just to meet cash flow problems. THEN I'll buy.:o

I might have missed the thread but how can someone obtain a $500 Genesis Discover Reward Coupon? Do you need to take a test drive at a special show or does a local dealer have acess to them? I am hoping to negotiate my deal this weekend!
