Most front car seats are mounted by four bolts or nuts, one at each corner on the floor.

Slide the seats all the way forward and then back, if wedges between the console they will fall out. All the way forward and you will be able to see the entire lower section from back seat floor.

Yes, the car starts and runs just fine. So I am assuming the fob must be in there.

Did you happen to check the oil or anything? Under the hood?

Did you go over your routine? When driving, where do you normally have the fob? Pants pocket? Pocketbook? Were you the passenger the last time you saw it? Think about that and where it may have fallen. Perhaps unusual circumstances that day may give a hint.

Great suggestions but nothing so far. I think it is caught under the seat somehow, but can't see or feel it from any angle.

If you normally had the fob in your pocket, there's a chance it slipped out and fell into (or through) the gap between the seat cushion and the seat back. That happened to me with my small Leatherman multi-tool (which is similar in size to the fob). When I reached into the gap, I felt it but accidently pushed it all the way through the gap. When sitting in the back seat, you will see the wide "flap" that starts a couple of inches below the seat back pocket and disappears under the seat. The flap kept the multi-tool from falling to the floor. As I recall, It attaches with a couple of flat, elastic hooks that hook somewhere under the seat. But I didn't have to find or disconnect the hooks in this case. The elastic attached to the hooks allowed me to pull back the flap a little from the corner where it turns to go underneath. I stuck a couple of fingers in the opening and found the multi-tool laying there. Or you could find and disconnect the two hooks and the flap should fall down. The fob should then fall to the floor or at least allow you to find it if it got caught by a cable/wiring etc....

I think something like that is possible. I have lifted the flats on both seats and can't see or feel anything. I will try again. Thanks.

Correction to my post above. There is only one hook/clip holding the flap in place rather than two. It clips on near the front of the seat so you would find it from the front. There are two elastic bands that run from the clip to two connection points on the flap.
