Genesis Apps are about as bad as their car software.....

I wasn't going to but....

So, time to make an apt. for wife's GV80 Coupe at 8200 miles - so so the pop up in the car keeps saying. Easy peasy - ill just log into website and use their convenient user friendly easy to use website that will not even let you opt out of the privacy options at login bc the screen says we've opted in and there are no toggle switches to decline ( we've sent requests to Genessis to not share info & opted out - but thats a whole other story). This is what site says though - nothing about oil change here:

1st stumble - I log into website and try to change default service center and enter a new zip and the map doesn't move, change, update or react.

So im stuck because nothing changes. I call Genessis after spending about 20 minutes clearing cookies, restarting computer, etc., and trouble shoot with them but nothing changes.

2nd stumble - She says I have to use another browser bc Safari is no good. I say BS.

3rd stumble - So then she has me log into app. So after installing and fumbling with app and updating center, I log out and back in to website to make sure default was changed bc app was ambiguous as to whether default was changed and updated or just being displayed as a choice.

4th stumble - log back into website to schedule apt and get this!

The solution is simple and 99% effective. Call the dealer, make appointment. Have never missed for me and takes only a few minutes.

@EdP is absolutely correct. @JackT, you seem more interested in grumbling about issues which have been already been discussed than actually accomplishing your task. It says call the retailer and that is exactly right. It’s been discussed many times here. So did you call?

By the way, I have a 2025 GV80 and have no problems with their software, so I guess you meant to say “your software”
 
I always call. Prefer to talk to a person for some things. Better for building relationships. And, I always call about 6 weeks in advance for scheduled items like maintenance.

It is for a car dealer. Every one of them is independent. There is no interconnectivity let alone some sort of centralized service than can be accessed through a single app.

sorry - I didt remember discussing this before. didn't think I did?? Well I was going to call - but I wanted to try the software app. After all, thats what it's for. But it wouldn't pull up the dealer. I was trying to change my default dealer which was not working. and when we finally got it changed, the genesis system was not available.... Sooooo, thats when we called on the good ole fashioned phone - like we've always done before all this convenient software became available. All this software app stuff is BS. Heck, just now I just got an alert my door was unlocked on my G90. Could have sworn I had locked the doors.

Log into app and it says , DOORS LOCKED - oh well.
