  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

While driving to work listening to a Bluetooth source, a click sound was heard and I lost audio from all speakers besides center dash and rear sub. Used the balance and fader to confirm loss of speakers. Changing source to radio didn't change anything. Turned off and back on the audio system without changed. Turned off car 15 seconds and no change. Started car an hour later and sound is back to normal.

Only 33,000 miles on this car, so not a ton of audio system use.

Anyone else had this problem with their 2017-2019 G90?

I'm having the exact same problem. Happed a few months ago. I did a "hard" reset by pushing the button located below one of the preset buttons. Didn't work.
As you said, all center sound, balance and fader show the speakers on but only putting out bass. Sound is all from the center of the dash/windshield.

Any fix yet?

Nope, no fix yet. No new information. Hoping for more owners to chime in with what causes it and what the fix is.

It hasn't recurred in the last week.

If it becomes recurrent, I assume Genesis won't know what to do besides replace parts, and those parts may not be available. From what I hear on other posts recently on this forum, headunits are not available. Not sure about other components.

Our Lexicon entertainment system has been abandoned by Genesis for years in favor of a different manufacturer and no new parts being manufactured. Our software is not being updated/improved besides occasional and delayed navigation database updates. One just came out after not being updated for 18 months. I know you can just use a phone navigation app, but I actually think the Genesis one is quite good, especially with the ability to input destinations with voice.

I am not sure if the loss of sound from most speakers is a head unit or amplifier issue. It depends on the design of the system and I don't know whether there are remote amps in different parts of the car near the speakers with the head unit acting as a preamp only, or whether most of the amps are in the head unit (besides the sub, which most likely is integrated). My last car, a Mercedes ML had multiple discrete amplifiers and low impedance speakers.

I suspect it's an issue with the amps and the crossovers failing or having an issue. Since I could tell the speakers were still on and working but no mid and high range was coming through them. My first thought was a crossover issue. I have platinum coverage to 150,000 miles so if it gets worse they're going to have to do something. It's disappointing to have a 6-year-old car of this value not be supported already concerning the sound system. Let me know what you hear.

Amp is in the trunk on one of the wheel wells - I am not sure which side because I think the G80 and 90 have them on opposing sides. Memory is fuzzy for the specific detail.

Hasn't happened again for me after two months.
