  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Put new tires and sensors on at Costco and now have a TPMS light. 2013 Genesis 3.8 with 49k. They originally told me to drive 50mph for 20 min but did not work. Went back and they used their TPMS OBD Scanner but failed to code to car. Was getting an OBD communication error. Went to autozone to make sure OBD port was ok and it read the car fine. Have read some other forum that TPMS may need to be original or dealer needs to be used to code them properly. Any thoughts?

Is the attached the right OEM Sensor and does it need to be coded or just driven to activate?

Supposedly this is a lengthy process to get this taken care of. Hyundai has their own machine to reset the TPMS module after replacing the sensors. I will be addressing this when I get time.

If I put on the OEM Sensors will the car automatically pick them up or do they still need to be coded at the dealership?

I believe they will have make them synch for lack of a better word. I was told the fee is about $140. I have four brand new OEM sensors.

TPMS ISSUE SOLVED! Went to my car to drive one last time to Costco to try to get them to one more time to sync the sensors they put on and the TPMS light was off. I think they synced... Costco person activated the sensors with their device and I guess the car recognized them. Have not let air out of a tire to see if they actually work yet. Hope this ends the future visits for this problem.....
