  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV70 or GV60?

All GV60s have a HUD; my basic GV70 did not. I have had a HUD for a number of years and it is a requirement for me.
I agree. Ironically, the reason why I had a GV70 loaner was because the HUD in my GV60 failed and needed to be replaced, which took a few days. I was so happy to have a working HUD again (it had been gradually failing for several months), and also very happy to have the GV60 back.

I do believe the higher end model GV70 also has one.
My GV70 loaner did not have one, but the owners manual talked about the HUD, so some variation of the GV70 must have one.

Yes, that is exactly right. I can get it to go on, and then if I start driving again after stopping at a stop sign for instance, it just goes off. Maybe I’m not engaging it correctly, I don’t know.

We have a '24 GV70EV with the HUD, I think at the time it was only the top level package (don't remember package names) that had it.

IMO, HUD is one of those things that once you have it, you never want to own another car that doesn't have a HUD. Great way of keeping eyes on the road while still monitoring speed and navigation (if enabled).

Thanks for the feedback. I got the GV60 Advanced. There was not a lot of choice now that the model year is ending. The 26s aren't available yet, although they told me at the dealership that they were at the dock, just not being released yet.

I spent 5-6 hours trying to set things up on the car over the weekend. I got most of it done, but I still can't get the 1-pedal to STAY on. Not to stay on after I turn the car off, just to stay on when I'm driving. I'm sure I just missed something in the manual, or should I say manuals. I saw two 1 1/2 inch manuals in the car, and just assumed they were duplicates. No! They are different, so I have to go home and study them both for answers. It is fun learning about the car, though.
You have to be in “i-Pedal” regen mode for true one-pedal driving.

AFAIK, none of the other/lower regen modes will bring the car to a complete stop.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Just read this regarding the new Cadillac Optiq's regenerative braking in a Motor Trend road-test:

"General Motors is pretty good at tuning these setups in the stable of EVs across its brands, and we appreciate the middle-ground one-pedal mode that can still stop the Optiq without using the brake pedal and without introducing the slight forward head toss the most aggressive mode delivers when the driver isn’t delicate with their right foot. Also appreciated? That the driver’s selected one-pedal mode sticks around through on/off cycles and that there’s a ready button on the touchscreen for adjusting it."

Genesis - are you reading this?

I've never had that happen, and no one on this forum has ever mentioned anything like that. I don't know how you could engage it wrong, you simply pull on the left paddle. What could you do incorrectly? There may be a problem with the car, I would consult a service advisor at the dealership.

On my car every time one pedal is engaged/disengaged there is a soft chime sound and a message appears on the right side of the cluster display. Are you seeing/hearing that?

Thanks for all the feedback. I finally learned how to properly engage the one pedal mode. I think I was holding the paddle too long. I now just "flick" it and all is good.

It is a bit irritating that it cannot just be a permanent setting. It's odd that this isn't an option. I've had 2 other EVs (Telsa MS and Jaguar IPACE) and both just had a setting to allow whatever level of regen you want. However, now that I am figuring out all the new things about this car, I really do like it. Other than a few minor annoyances (the map is pretty, ah, basic) it is everything I want.

The lack of ability to remember the regen setting isjust one of several head-scratching design decisions exhibited by the GV60, but it’s a very nice car regardless.

Re: map: We just use Google Maps via (wired 🙄) CarPlay!

It is (was) tough decision! I finally went with the GV60. Price was a bit of a factor, but honestly not much of one. At my advanced age (I'm 73), I was always leaning towards something smaller. It just makes moving around easier and I don't need the storage space in the rear. The final selling point for me was that the 60 has a roomier interior. I was surprised to learn that it not only felt roomier, it is in fact roomier. I like the open feel very much.

Now, I just have to figure out ALL the various settings etc. I haven't been able to figure out how to get real-time traffic to display, or how to keep one pedal driving on permanently, but that is what this forum is for!

Thank you all for the feedback. I very much look forward to exploring this forum. I know from past experience with other cars, so much great and helpful information can be found here.
We were out and about a couple days ago and I think we determined that we got real-time traffic only when we had a destination set in nav...but we didn't 'research' it any further...and it appeared to be the case that only traffic conditions on the route to destination were displayed.

Odd, but I got into the car yesterday afternoon, and suddenly I had real time traffic. Such as it is...It only displayed traffic on major roadways. Some help, but not what I'm used to. I will use Google Maps for the time being. I can't wait for the promised wireless upgrade.

It's not just Genesis, all of the Hyundai Motor Group vehicles do this. It appears to be something intentional. There is speculation that the EPA certified range was calculated with One Pedal turned off, and so therefore the car has to default to turning it off. Many here agree with you - it's irritating. At the LA Auto Show last year I discussed this with one of the booth representatives and they said they had heard this complaint before. Of course they had no power to change it. It doesn't seem like any feedback from US customers gets back to anyone in authority in Korea.

My car has had the wireless upgrade for a year, but it didn't make the built in maps any better. The update did include a major improvement in Apple CarPlay. I use Apple Maps and after that update the maps show up in the cluster display and also in the HUD. Fantastic! It was almost like getting a new car. So I use Apple Maps exclusively and am very happy with it - except for the fact that I can't precondition the battery when navigating to a fast charging station. Fortunately in California this isn't catastrophic, but even here preconditioning is really needed in the winter months for best charging performance. I keep hoping they will add a manual preconditioning option, like the EV9 has.

The frustrating part about these two issues is that they could both easily be resolved with a software fix, but no software fix happens. (For that matter, the mediocre built in maps also need a software fix.) The hardware is awesome, just a bit of a software tweak needed to make it even better.
