  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Pixel 10 Pro XL starts charging, then stops after 10 seconds in wireless slot.

Tried with and without case.
When first put into wireless slot, it shows the typical Pixel "I'm charging now" sweep of the screen, GV60 orange wireless charger light comes on, then flashes, then shuts off.
Anyone else have this issue?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Edit: Apparently this is a known issue with this brand-new phone. Lots of chatter about it elsewhere.

Are your phone battery settings set to stop charging after the battery reaches a certain percentage? I always turn off all battery nannies on every phone i get.

Nah. Thanks, but it's not a settings issue. As I said in my Edit... this is a known Pixel 10 issue. Lots... lots of reporting on it, which I didn't see until after I originally posted. I have opened a case with Google, and they are very aware of the issue. A firmware / software fix is all that will solve this, and they are working on it.
Cheers.

When I place my iphone or my wife’s on the car’s wireless pad they overheat tremendously so I dont use it anymore.
In general heat means resistance so my guess is that the rubber between the coil and the phone is the one at fault.

Us too. Both her Apple and my Samsung overheat. I used the settings menus to turn off wireless charging so she can keep her phone in there if she wants without over heating. If we want to charge we just use the two USB-C ports.

My PIxel 9, especially when using wireless AA at the same time and being in the case gets really hot. With the camera bulge on a lot of newer phones, they don't sit flat against the charging pad in the car. Which likely further reduces the efficiency of the charging and likely contributes to additional heating.

My Pixel 8 Pro charged flawlessly in the GV60 slot. It could be in there for hours of driving, and it would never get more than a little warm. No issues with it... ever.
And most of the time in there I was using Android Auto for audiobooks or maps/nav... whatever.
I'm hopeful that with all the negative press this P10 issue is getting, Google steps on it and gets an update STAT!
