I need to put new tires on my 2023 G90. What do I give up, if anything, to put 4 tires of the same size around the car?

I need to put new tires on my 2023 G90. I have the E-Whatever with different sized tires on front and rear. I don't totally understand how those are rotated, but ok...

The tires I want - OEM Michelin Primacy Tour in the size for the front - aren't available. What do I give up, if anything, to put 4 tires of the same size around the car?

If your wheel width is only a 1/2" different front to back it's not a big deal running all 4 of the same size, just be sure to keep track of which wheels are wider, don't want to put them in front, and you could only rotate side to side.

The rear wheels are 1" wider than the front (9.5 vs. 8.5) to give it the staggered look.

G90 wheel sizes

I have thought about replacing the 21" wheels with 19" and use 50R19 series tires all around. They should be much quieter. Not sure how it would look without spacers on the rear to fill out the wheel well.

I was thinking about this post when I created the thread about the rim protectors built into the Michelins.

Additionally, I think the fat tires on the back are worth it for the sport look. Was just driving behind a Benz today with fat back wheels, and thought about this thread again. I smiled and knew it had the Dark Knight Rises Batmobile look going on, and I knew my G90 had a similar look. The Benz's width was probably almost 4 inches more per tire. They were aggressively wide.

Thanks for the link. There are a lot of “G90” members on that group.

I just have a burner account for just these types of scenarios.

While waiting to be let into the group, which has an HOA feel to it, I quickly was fed an AI video by Mr. Zuckerberg of a yellow lab ushering ducks and ducklings to a pond six inches from a busy road. AI will be the death of us all LOL!

OK, the engineers at Genesis tried many tire wheel combination, did thousands of miles of road testing under varied conditions and climates. Handling and safety are the considerations. So, the question that comes up -----

Is it OK to put the same size tire on all four wheels of my $100,000 sedan to save $100?

Humm…that’s strange. I joined that group about 14 months ago and as I recall it was almost immediate.

Finally someone activated my invite.

I do not use Facebook at all, and you could add all my life’s time on it and it would be barely 2 hours.

I thought it would be better organized. Forums have zero competition from Facebook ai have learned. Reddit is the bigger competitor. In Facebook you have to read a big long thread and you can’t jump to topics.

Strange after all these years, there is not a section for jump links with a word cloud or something…to jump to certain topics.

From what I have seen it is actually about $60-$80, and don’t forget the athletic aggressive look it provides!

If you go with Korean rubber it is probably even less.

I will not be afraid to put Korean rubber on my Korean car! If the warranty is there and the speed and weight ratings are there, I trust the Koreans, obviously, and couple that with Walmart or Amazon standing beside these names; I have zero problems.

You can just use the "search in group" feature. No - FB is absolutely not as well organized as forums are - but it was never intended to be. Forums are designed to be historically kept discussions. FB - a pure social media platform - has only ever been about connecting people, discussing an immediate topic with engagement by everyone under the sun, and marketing (read: profit generation). It does not work for specialized topics at all - no matter how narrow the group categorization is made. If everyone is on the mountaintop while shouting to the masses below at the same time - the people below just hear noise and go elsewhere to have a meaningful discussion. That is a solid summation of topic-based "discussions" on FB.

But if you look at G90s in Korea - you will see they often have non-Korean rubber on them. Lots of owners there (or rather - their exclusive passengers) want the quieter & smoother ride and they make the investment. You will see lots of them with tires like the Cross Climate, Defender, Cinturato, DWS06, Potenza, etc.
