'25 Gv80 Facial Recognition - Anyone have problems with this when using cruise control?

Have had a 2025 GV70 for past two weeks while dealer tries to fix 25 Genesis GV80s problems with same issue. The GV70 works like a charm and the only physical difference it is in a GV70 not GV80. Genesis claims they don't know the resolution to the issue. Also, they are still trying to repair the "check engine light" module after replacing it twice it still doesn't work. Not real pleased with Genesis GV80s right now.
 
According to the dealer, Genesis is susposed to be working on a tech fix for the issue.
 
Purchased my gv80 prestige 3.5t and went on my first trip.
I just stopped using the driver convenience.
I get constent warnings.
No glasses at all, adjusted my seat and steering wheel.
Very disappointed in the system.
When my wife drives there are a lot fewer.
I guess the car doesn't like me.
It is her car:)
(Forward Attention Warning), had no problem with my 2021 GV80 Prestige, but now with my 2025 GV80 Coupe, when using cruise control the "Attention Warning" goes off every minute or so. Again, tried removing sun glasses, adjusting my seat and steering wheel, but did not make any difference.

about a service bulletin for this issue affecting the new Ioniq5's. Some partial remedies are suggested, but no real fix is available currently.
 
No issues on 2022 GV80 3.5 Prestige, but my wife’s 2025 BMW X5 has similar problems (polarized or non-polarized Ray-ban or Oakley) So, its not just GV has similar issues.
 
I did try resetting my driver profile settings and modified the height and inseam.
I made minor adjustments the looked directly at the sensor while activating.
Way less warnings. I did notice when the error does come up I would direct my eyes back at the sensor and it would stop the errors. Defeats the purpose of keeping eyes on the road.

I've had this problem with 2025 GV80 Prestige since purchased April 2025. It is really aggravating to have a pricey luxury car filled with tech and have it shut off Cruise Control (CC) on long trips. I think it only happens in daylight - could it have to do with eye squinting? I use glasses and on really bright days I use non-polarized clip-ons (so I can see the HUD), however the facial recognition still shuts down CC. Tried using a baseball cap to reduce glare, too. Seemed to work, but eventually still shut down CC. As someone below said - come on Genesis - Fix this!
 
I had the same problem with my ‘25 GV80 until I bought a pair of Oakley sunglasses with Prizim lenses, no problem since I got them.

The tech is made by a third party supplier. There have been complaints from other car brands that are using the same tech.

Hyundai/Genesis cannot fix it but their supplier certainly should.
 
I've gotten this warning only once in the nearly 1 year of driving our '25 Prestige, and I have some cheap no-brand polarized sunglasses that do require me to tilt my head to read the HUD. Granted, I nearly always turn OFF the lane-keeping assist when I engage cruise control, however I've gone a few ~10 mile stretches with LKA engaged with no warnings.

We’re talking about two different problems. Glasses affecting the HUD and the sensitivity of the Eye Tracker system. My issue is with the sensitivity of the eye tracking and the loud, ultra-sensitive alert system..

I had a 21 GV80 and this was never a problem. I now have a 26 GV80 Coupe and the problem is so bad that I’ve reported it to NHTSA. On my car, at least, this is a safety issue because it’s so distracting. If enough of us complain, maybe NHTSA will force some action from Genesis.

I have a Canadian 2025 GV80 Coupe E-sc, about 5 months ago I went on road trip (approx 1,000 KM (650miles) each direction. It was virtually impossible to to use the cruise control, it kept on warning me "keep eye on road" alarm. About 2 months ago I had the GV80 in for service and the dealer said they downloaded some new software to correct the problem. Last week I went on exactly same road trip, it was better BUT not perfect. When driving "EAST" on cloudy day, absolutely no problems. When driving "WEST" in the bright sun (sun was coming through my drivers side window) , there was some problem but not like the previous road trip. A few hours later (again driving in a westerly direction and heavy clouds, zero problems.
Seems Genesis has partially solved the problem but under certain conditions, a bit of a problem.
By the way, when I owned my 2021 GV80 Prestige, I had zero problems with the cruise control.
 
I've found the same results. After an over the air update, it's much better it only goes bonkers on sunny days. Then I have to disable the lane keep if I want to resume in CC

Uh, yeah, I know. I was responding to the rampant concerns expressed throughout this thread concerning the effect that polarized sunglasses may have on the sensitivity of the eye-ball tracking sensor for the LKA system. I only mentioned my HUD to point out that I know that the glasses I use are polarized TOO. Apparently my GV80 doesn't have the same issue yours has, or the environmental conditions that exist when using it are different enough to result in grossly different behavior.
 
I found out that I’m contributing to the problem in my car because I drive with my head tipped back slightly because of a vision issue. Apparently the range of sensitivity of the new tracker system is much narrower than the old one. Still a defect, but my fault, too.
