  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So up till about a week ago, the apple CarPlay map had a default of this is the city:

old.webp

Now for some reason , its this:

new.webp

If I try to use the +/- tab on the map to zoom out, it just reverts to zoomed in after a minute or so.

Everything is zoomed in now - thats the default. Even on the highway. The only way to get it to look "normal" is to go to location service in the Map App on the iPhone and toggle off then on location services.

Anyone know how to fix this so thats not necessary ? Or is this a new bug??

I just checked my ‘24 G90 wireless Apple Car Play using both Google Maps and Apple Maps and both operate normally. Can’t imagine why yours is acting up. If you haven’t already rebooted your phone, I’d try that first. If that doesn’t work you might try resetting the head unit. Good luck.

Rebooting phone causes it to not connect at all. By reset headunit, hold map and setup buttons and restrt it? Or reset from dealer menu? If later , the “old” way no longer works for me. Dealer has told me genesis changed process.

Just put it on a flash drive and install it yourself. Easy.

No way. Last time took hours and hours for an update. PITA. Plus it’s been trying for weeks now. Hate to start something midstream…

Resetting by holding the map and settings button might be worth a try and what also might be worth trying is deleting the car from your phone and deleting the phone from your car then reconnecting everything. Also Genesis customer service might have an answer.

That’s just a “reboot” right? I thought a reset involved the dealer menu from setup??

I’ve done the map / setup buttons reboot.

Nope. But got sidelined with surgery. Gonna try again today and see if it’s still acting up. Updated iOS to 18.7.2 but not tried ACP since. Not updating to iOS 26 for a bit. Also need to find new directions on how to access dealer mode on car.

Just tried. Connects to ACP. Map scale still zoomed in as default. But - I toggled location services on the phone off/on with CarPlay on. Map reloads at regular scale as previously. So not sure what is causing this issue. I also noticed - never looked before actually - phone WiFi connects to some genesis WiFi network when I’m connected to ACP. I do not have genesis hotspot enables though.

Wish I could help. I know how frustrating these things can be. Have you tried deleting the Bluetooth connection from your phone and deleting your phone from the car then starting over with a new connection?

Yep. I did check my wifes 2025 gv80 coupe. I know different car and probably differ software, but. Anyhow, i enabled her wireless acp and maps default scale is “normal.” Also, unlike my car, hers does not auto connect to some genesis wifi signal like mine.

This i found very interesting: her car had a message in settings, general, something or another about an update waiting to be installed on shutdown. For maps and or nav i believe. The message said it would take about 10 minutes to install. So we shut the car off and did our errand. Upon walking back to car she even got a text message saying car update complete.

In my 2025 G90, ive never seen any messages like that and ive certainly never gotten a text saying any update has completed. Im now feeling kinda gipped on the sofrware!

My last OTA update was installed back on 10/20 and I did get a text confirming the installation. You set those messages up in the Genesis Connected Services app under menu/settings/notifications.

Well heres what i got and never a message….
