Cracked Windshield.... But not from stone impact?

I noticed a crack on my windshield the other day,but can't remember a stone impact, etc.

it's a 2025 3.5T Prestige.. barey 5000 miles.

Is this some kind of defect? Has anyone else experienced a windshield crack WITHOUT a known impact?

Yes, happens more often than people think. Mechanical stress, thermal stress, glass imperfections. impact you did not see. Many years ago, I had one crack when water hit it.
