  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2023 Brembo Factory Pads Question

So I installed the new DFC 5000 (part #s 1551 2145/2144) about 10 days ago, and so far I'm pretty happy with them. Hardest part of the switch was hammering the new pins back into the calipers, unfortunately I chipped the back of my calipers a bit. I drove on them gently for a day or so, then went and did a series of increasingly aggressive stops followed by a cooling-off drive. All pulsations are gone, and the pad feel/initial bite is excellent. I haven't tried any aggressive braking (since the bedding) but overall a positive experience so far.
That's good news. Keep us updated. I hope these new pad work 100% for you. I'm not these pad as the ones I'll likely go with in the Spring.

Let us know if there is an increase in brake dust with the DFC 5000 pads.

I read over on Stinger.org that the Euro-spec pads that Kia changed to (after so many brake complaints) were the R1 semi metallics, and have since been changed to their parent company (Dynamic Friction owns R1) and the low metallic DFC 5000 pads are the same pad compound. They have the ceramic version of the DFC 5000 as well (the pads that @orange260z has), but for whatever reason these only show up on the post facelift 22+ G70 Brembo models, and the low metallic pads only show up for the 19 thru 21 years, just boggles the mind why there would be a cutoff for each pad since both sets fit the same caliper/rotor.

At any rate, those ceramics are probably the ticket for you if you want less dusting. My low metallics dust more than the OEM pads but have a pretty aggressive bite for a street pad.

Another plus for the DFC Brembo pads is they fit exactly as OEM, none of that rattle and slop that some have had with other brand pads.
