  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For the black trim molding between the side front & rear windows and the black molding strip which runs parallel to the sunroof glass on both sides (assume both are the same plastic material) what do you all use to prevent oxidation and fading. I’m sure just plain Armour All might help, but I just got Meguiar’s Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer today and will try it this weekend. Anybody use something else that works well? Thanks

If not already UV damaged, a good quality wax every couple of months should keep it looking like new.

Hey RBES. How did that product work for you? I used wax and it didn’t improve the look at all. Thx for any insight you can provide.

If you can’t polish it, it might be worth just buying some gloss black vinyl wrap and putting it over it.

Thank you very much for that suggestion. I wasn’t aware of that product. Appreciate it.

Did you ever get that black strip wrapped?
I have the same issue on a 2020...already oxidized. Is wrapping the only remedy? (the car Vik Black).Thanks.

Yep. Almost one year later…life def gets in the way sometimes. Finally had the side panels of my g70 touched up using 3M vinyl. Local shop installed it. Said should get 3-5 years out of it. They suggested don’t cheap out on anything less than 3M product. waxing over it will prolong the life. Here's before/after pics

Looking good, that 3m wrap is good stuff, you'll get more than 5 yrs if your car isn't out in the sun all day.

My friend. I barely have time to iron my work clothes never mind do auto work myself. I didn’t do the work myself. Bought the 3m vinyl sheeting n my local tiny shop took care of installing it quickly. Have a good weekend.
