  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone put the 20" wheels from the electric version on a gas model?

I have a 3.5T Prestige which came with the 21" wheels. I don't really like these wheels (They look TOO big to my untrained eye), but I had to accept them to get the Prestige Trim. I first thought of downgrading to the wheels of a lower trim level, only to learn that they are 19". And, again to my untrained eye, these look too SMALL, so I don't really like them either.

BUT, I noticed that the electric version comes with a 20" wheel whose styling I like best. But I'm wondering why is there no 20" wheel for the gas models?. I imagine they did something unique for the wheels on the electric versions, for example, making them super quiet, BUT is there any technical reason I couldn't or shouldn't put them on my ICE car?

I'd appreciate any experience and/or thoughts.

thanks,
Chris

I have the 20" wheels on my 2023 GV70 electric. I believe the 5 spokes are a little beefier, no doubt to allow for the additional weight of the electric vehicle. I agree they are a nice looking wheel. I'm sure they would work on your 3.5T. I have an aftermarket set of 19" with winter tires mounted, with no problem. You could ask your dealer. They should be able to confirm.

I have an after market 20 inch wheels for my winter tires to replace the sumer 21's. A 255/45 20 tire has the same rolling diameter as the stock 255/40 21's and they work well, give a little more side wall for the winter pot holes in the roads.
