Automatically Sync Phone Book

Hello.
I'm a new owner of an '09 Genesis 4.6 with Tech package.
I appologize if this is an old topic but I cannot seem to find information to help me out.
Is there a way to sync the phone book to my phone or do I have to add all the entries manually?

Yes you can download all the numbers from your phone.

Register your phone via Bluetooth and the phone's data base will be available. Check your manual for pairing and connecting a bluetooth phone.

I'll keep trying. I guess I just expected all the numbers to show up in the phone book but they aren't there. I couldn't find anything in the manual about how to download the phone numbers.

I've never been able to do it, and there are no instructions in the manual other than how to pair the phone, so I just entered the most important names and numbers to the car. For the few times that I want to phone someone that is not in the car, but in the phone, I just find it in the phone and hit call, and the call goes through the car.

No big deal for me.

Also, the car phone book automatically gets populated with calls received and placed with the cell phone.

I don't believe the '09 allows you to synch your phone's address book - many here have tried unsuccessfuly. If anyone has found an answer, I'd like to know.

When the phone is paired download is automatic. You have to give it a few minutes though, and the pairing should be done within 2 minutes of starting the car. Try deleting the pairing and start over doing as I said.

It may be phone specific, but my '09 Gen/iPhone combo worked perfectly.

Yeah, it is completely automatic on the Ford. One more thing I can add to the list I guess.
BTW, I just tried with my girlfriend's IPhone and it doesn't work either. Urg!

The idea of a car is the driving experience not necessarily that it has every gadget your Taurus had. The Genesis also has stuff the Taurus doesn't.

Remember Consumer Reports considers the Ford Sync system not very friendly or usable. But that does not detract from them recommending a vehicle or the overall experience of owning a particular model.

If you continue to look for issues you will find them. Look at the big picture instead of saying the bluetooth and mapping isn't the best. We knew that and you should have also by reading posts on this forum before you bought a used Genesis. Enjoy your Genesis like we all do.

If it is a bad as all your comments in all of your posts (almost nothing positive) make yourself happy by selling the car now.

Incorrect, my Genesis with Tech uploads all contacts from my wife's phone.
