  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is the true purpose for the reach thru to the trunk from the backseat?

I used it last night to get some crown molding from Home Depot. I was able to get a 10' length in and shut the trunk (of course the piece was sitting on the dash). Not something I like to do, but actually easier than my short bed pickup where they would bounce all around.

What's better than owning a pickup? Having a brother who owns a pickup - that's my experience, anyway.

Very true, I have a 99 S10 that I use for hauling. However, it gets less than 3K miles a year and I probably pay more for insurance/maintenance on it than if I just rented a truck when I needed it. I think I use it more for trips where I don't want to park my car than anything else.

The funny thing is I had to get 12' sheets of sheetrock home a few weeks ago. Not getting that in an S10, so I had to rent the Home Depot truck. Its cheap though 20 bucks for 75 minutes if you purchase stuff there.
