Big problem with Michelin Pilot A/S Plus

My 2011 4.6 Genesis has been pefrect as far as tracking straight with no pull/drift to the right or left on level road. This past weekend I purchased a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S org. size 235 50 18 replacing the OEM DumFlops. The car now pulls to the right. the tire dealer has checked alignment, moved tires front to rear one side at a time, fliped tires on rims a to swap sides on car adjusted air pressure, and rechecked alignment twice with the new 2011 TSB specs from Hyundai. After all of this the tires still pull to right. I may have 4 bad tires but that is hard to beleave. I have now read on other forum boards that others have had this problem, ie Lexus, Chrysler, and Mercedes. I am now waiting on the dealer to tell me what tires he will replace them with at no cost. My car only has 17000 miles on it and the total cost of the tires was 1179.00 So I am not happy. BTW the Michelins are quiet and smooth and took no weight or very little to balance, however we cannot live with the pulling to the right.

I had pulling to the right with the Continental Contact Extreme DWS. I had the car dealer to perform an alignment and that pretty much took care of it.
When I put the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on the tires balanced well and no pulling issues. I would ask to try another set of Michelin Sport A/S. Sometimes it is not uncommon to have to drive on new tires for at least 500 miles to get them to settle in. The total cost of my tires was $970.00 but with the Michelin rebate and a special allowance for my Continental DWS I got the Michelin Sport A/S for $782.00. I too like the fact that with the Michelin Sport A/S it took no or very view weights to balance the wheels.
Please note that some of the cars you mentioned have had problems with the pulling to the right or left with other tire brands.

I also have the Michelin Pilot A/S Plus and from the beginning I noticed the car pulling both ways due to the crown of the road, the problem has mostly subsided but sometimes I still notice the pulling. Between 5 and 6 k on car now.

Mine pulls to right regardless of crown in road or what lane. Its really bad.

I just switched from my Blizzaks to my Michelin Pilot A/S Plus today. I noticed a big difference in handling. I think my car rides best with the winter tires - actually.

I wanted to say that it is odd that you bring this up - but my car is pulling to the left after I put these wheels/tires back on. (I don't remember this being a problem before.) Now - I have about 17-18K miles on these tires - so this is not the same situation. But it definately pulls with these tires - but that could be due to wearing issues.

I was pretty happy with these tires... Make sure you rotate often... I drive a lot..put 10K on the tires in less than 4 months...and the tires began vibrating after I had them rotated. I endured it for 3K - and switched them back - only a small amount of vibration.

I may be inclined to try something else next time. I have about 40 to 50% of tread left. If these were the Dunlops - I would have been getting new tires again!

I just get to run the MIchelins for a few days( no later than next Monday) so that means about 800 free miles. I have had several sets of Michelins in the past and never had a problem, they were perfect, but my experiance with Bridgestone has also been excellent and I hope the Serenity tires coming will be as good as the ones in the past. BTW I never got upset with anyone at the tire store, they were working hard to give great service as they always have for me over the past ten years. My tire store is Tires Plus Athens, GA.

I have Michelin Pilot A/S and have no problems with tracking. The car was pulling to the right with the Dunlops even after getting alingnment. I have had the Michelin Pilot since Dec. The ride is better with the Michelin.Wanted
Cont DWS and after waiting 4 months becaus of back order gave up and went with Michelin. Before the Genesis I had the Lexus GS with Pilot A/S which was a good ride.

I just get to run the MIchelins for a few days( no later than next Monday) so that means about 800 free miles. I have had several sets of Michelins in the past and never had a problem, they were perfect, but my experiance with Bridgestone has also been excellent and I hope the Serenity tires coming will be as good as the ones in the past. BTW I never got upset with anyone at the tire store, they were working hard to give great service as they always have for me over the past ten years. My tire store is Tires Plus Athens, GA.

You probably are aware of this but the Bridgestone Serenity is a Grand Touring Tire which is a nice tire and is ok for your car but the OEM tire was an Ultra High Performance Tire which Hyundai put on the car to give maximum performance to match the set up of the car.I tried the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 which is also a Grand Touring Tire on my car but after a wheel balance problem due to a bad tire I had the dealer to put the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S back on. After I did this I notice that where as a Grand Touring Tire may give a little softer ride over rough pavement the road feel,steering,handling,traction and smoothness of ride at high legal speeds seem so much better with an Ultra High Performance Tire. One of the questions I had about the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S was ,do I really need a Y rated tire that will allow me to travel at 168mph? My Dunlop's were V rated 130mph,my Continental's DWS W rated 149mph and I have never seen those speeds so I really saw anything higher than a V rated as a waste but I have notice something that has changed my thinking and that is the higher up I went in speed rating the better the tire performed. The Bridgestone Serenity is W rated but still a Grand Touring Tire.
I did some researched and saw were people have complained about pulling with the Bridgestone Serenity. I hope this will not be the case for you but if so I would recommend that you have your Hyundai Dealer align your car under warranty. I am not saying anything against your tire dealer but with the technology behind todays cars allot of times you have to take them back to the dealer. Even if your Hyundai dealer does not do alignments they may use a tire dealer that they have worked with.

Update -- Today the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires were put on the Genesis 4.6 to replace the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus set of tires. Nothing was done to the car today other than installing the Bridgestone tires. Now the Genesis tracks straight, no pull right or left. Tires run smooth and quiet, had up to 80 mph and in all lanes on the Interstate, no pulling at all. It was obviously the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires. I have to say I am very, very pleased with the customer service of my Tires Plus store.

Try moving the left front to the right and the right front to the left. If the pull reverses, it is probably a belt in one or both of the tires. I may also just balance it out and all will be good.

I am glad to know that the Bridgestone Serenity's are working out for you. I have about 300 miles on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus and so far I am pleased with them.

Bridgestones are quieter and ride a little better than the Michelins. Both ride much better than the Dunlops and both are quieter though the Michelin was noisey on some roads.

Also fYI the dealer called me to let me know he got full credit from Michelin for the set of bad Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus tires even though they were not replaced with Michelins and said he found out that there have been numerious pulling problems with Pilot Sport A/ S plus.

I believe we may have purchased new tires about the same time. I have 1000 miles on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and have had no pulling issues.

All brands of radial tires can have a pulling problem due to a mfg defect. I worked for Goodyear for just over 4 years and at times we would have a mfg run of radial tires with certian serial numbers from a factory that could cause pulling. With directional tires and more than one bad in a set it is very difficult to find the tire(s) that cause the pulling.
