  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

so over the weekend, we end up buying a used 2010 v8 white/cashmere Genny. it was great and the whole entire family loved it. however, there are a few questions that I have:

- all four wheels are peeling, does anyone have this issue before?
- trying to decide on where to get the badge, koreautoworld, KFR, or ebay. KFR said that they are on vacation and it could be ship either US or KR, but not saying exactly where.
- ceramic tints is that correct?

If your car has less than 60,000 miles on it I think the peeling on the wheels is covered by the warranty unless the peeling is from an accident or from improper installation of tires.

Hey there, I recently purchased a Genesis as well. I also work at a Hyundai dealership in Portland, OR. My co-worker purchased a gen coupe and had a peeling issue with his wheels. So yes, I can see this being a concern. Will Hyundai pay for it? Mos likely not. They blame it on the product used to clean the wheel. But since you JUST purchased it, I would take it back to the SELLING DEALER and politely ask them to take a look at your wheel and see what they can do for you (meaning the dealer might pay for it). I work in parts and service and I can honestly say... The kinder my customers are to me, the more I will stand up for them. If they will not pay for it, ask them for a refferal to a on-site wheel repair person. Good luck!

the dealer agree to fix it, but from what I understand, the wheels could not simplily be painted. so that lead to my concern. It happens on all 4 wheels. the front two show obvious sign of peeling, it started showing some blackness to it. the other two only have the top layer come off.

I have to agree with Hyundai and say that the cleaner used on the wheels might have damaged it, but that still doesn't help your case. I think that the issue is, the dealer doesn't want to fork over the $ to pay for the repair to be perfect. The on-site wheel repair that they use should be sufficient to repair them to a good condition (may not be perfect... It is a used car). I would just be very cautious on the cleaning material that you use on them (nothing with acids). I would not worry about future peeling after the repair is made as long as you use proper cleaner. I would recommend products from GriotsGarage.com.
