  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Creaking noise in roof behind front seats, squeaky drivers armrest,cd player stopped working, steering wheel drops down slowly over long periods of time, dome lights flicker sometimes, rattle in passenger headrest,no heat to rear seat center vent. Of all these defects dealer was only able to fix cd player. Does anyone have the pdf about rear seat heat,I tried to download it but it comes up blank.Main reason for dealer not fixing defect is,they say if the cant reproduce the problem they can not fix it.Rear heater problem only happens when its cold, when they bring it inside it works, they think they fixed it and tell me its was a loose wire. Dealers name is Lester Glenn in Toms River NJ They did repose inside door panel for squeak, the new one also squeaked.

I had a squeaky armrest as well. Had the armrest replaced (top was broken) but still squeaked. I fixed it by placing a small piece of plastic between the inside door panel and frame right about where the door latch is located. It's enough to keep the panel from rubbing against the metal behind it at the armrest. My steering wheel also descends over time but I can live with that.

I think we have a different squeak. Mine is just to the right(inboard) of the hole in the armrest toward the back of it. Its like a squeak toy,its coming from under the leather or whatever it is. Not near door itself. I had a 2011 loaner and it did not squeak at all. They claim they replaced door panel at a cost,to them, of 2,000 bucks,it was exactly the same. You have to press down with your elbow(not hard)to make it squeak. I guess its another defect I will have to live with. I'm going to ask for coupons toward future services for all my waisted trips to dealer and there inability to fix most of the defects.

I could have sworn the squeak in my car was coming from the armrest itself -a squeaking leather sound - and only discovered by trial and error that it wasn't. Try pulling on the edge of the door panel with the door open - sort of prying it away from the door frame - while pushing down on the armrest. It may not work but it would eliminate one possibility.
