Required Dealer Service to Maintain Warranty

Strongly considering a Genesis 4.6, but before I pull the trigger I need to know about required service. Had a Volvo once and had to pay exorbitant prices to dealer for required 6000 mile service intervals according to their service schedule. I had to pay almost $1000 for my 12,000 mile service in order to get them to stamp my warranty book. If you did not have the official service stamp from the dealer they would not honor your warranty. If I buy a Genesis, am I signing up for a similar cash drain? Genny owners... whats your experience?

No service required by dealer. Just keep receipts. Service is not expensive at dealers. No cash drain, I had a 15000 mile service at dealer in Atlanta and the cost was 114.00 with oil and filter it would have been 154.00.

Well... I haven't read all the fine print on today's announcement just yet, but if you want to take advantage of a guaranteed trade-in value for your 4.6 between months 24 and 48, I am fairly certain this service will be a requirement.

You are correct regarding the guaranteed trade-in. However, dealer service is not required to keep the warranty in effect.

By law, you do not have to have service done by the dealer in the US to keep your warranty in tact. What you DO need is a filing system that keeps all of your receipts as proof of having the service done. You were taken in by your Volvo dealer.
