  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

for the past month, usually on my way to school, i notice a very slight side to side vibration/shaking. i know its not the road because i've tried it on different flat surfaces and i know its not my wheels (when looking out the windows, the wheels are perfectly straight, and from the car behind, there is no wobble in the tires). its only when the car is going about 15-25 mph and usually only when the car has just been started although sometimes it can be noticed up to 10-15 mins later. i was just wondering if anyone else has had noticed this in their sedan? its very minimal but it bugs me.
just drive on a very smooth road with windows up and music off at about 15-20 mph and tell me if you feel the seat vibrate.

Have you balanced your wheels recently?

that's what cause me to get out of my one day old '11 3.8 tech genesis. they couldn't figure it out without swapping a bunch of parts and outside of the wheels i wasn't "down" with that. i drove two other new 3.8's and they didn't have it nor does my new 4.6. you could only feel it between 55-70mph though but you could see the steering wheel shake slightly and feel the vibration in your seat. let us know what you find. they thought it was a balance or alignment problem, but it wasn't as they tried both.

I don't know what tires you but if you went for cheap tires, low cost radial tires can have a wobble at low speeds due to a bad radial belt. This is something you would not see. Also if your tires have a nylon in their construction they may cause a wobble or bump until warmed up.

I have this issue as well (i.e., vibration at higher speeds) I assumed it was because of the tires.
