  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys,

I recently stalled and tried restarting the ignition and it sounded like gear grind but more an electrical sound. Is this normal ? Before when i stalled alot the car would just not start.

Also is it normal to have more of a lurch between gear changes after a stall? Is it just me over compensating on the gas pedal?

Thanks again for your feedback

It sounds as if you tried to start a car that was already running........that is the sound they make.

I would think that your problem is 'why is your car stalling a lot?'

Sorry I may not have been clear in my questions.

1)My car was definitely stalled. Engine was off. When I turned the ignition again it had a weird electrical sound ( I'm thinking maybe its just the spark plugs firing and maybe since it was stalled it just had problems). But I have stalled in the past but never with this sound. So what I am asking is if its just a normal sound?

2) After stalling when I turn the car on and start moving through the gears it seems like there is a lurch foward in the car more. Is this normal? Am I just overcompensating on the gas?

Sorry guys for the unclear question.

Are you stalling it by letting the clutch out to quickly? that is if you have a manual transmission.

I'm still killing mine at times. The difference between it and my pickup is immense. The coupe's clutch grabs way sooner and I kill it now and then.

However, when it does die I just push the clutch in and hit the button and it fires right up. No funny sounds, no jumping, etc. and it shifts/accelerates normally afterwards.
